C. V. Mathew
C. V. Mathew is a bishop of the St. Thomas Evangelical Church of India. Previously he was the Presiding Bishop of the St. Thomas Evangelical Church of India from 2008-2018. He retired on 31st December. Mathew's area of specialisation is in religions, Hindu fundamentalism, and a Christian response. Mathew was consecrated as the presiding bishop on 28 November 2008 along with Bishop Dr Thomas Abraham. St. Thomas Evangelical Church of India (STECI) is an Eastern Protestant Christianity, Oriental Protestant (Reformed Orthodox) episcopal denomination based in Kerala, India. It derives from a Schism (religion), schism in the Malankara Mar Thoma Syrian Church in 1961 and forms a part of the Saint Thomas Christians, Saint Thomas Syrian Christian community. The church is engaged in active witnessing and building up of faith communities that will witness the love of God and serving people around in need. The Bible Society of India is a Christian body that is authorized to translate, produce, distribute and market the Bible and is a member of the United Bible Societies. Union Biblical Seminary
Union Biblical Seminary (UBS) is a theological seminary founded by Wesleyan and Methodist denominations in Pune, India. UBS started as a Marathi-medium Bible School opened by the Free Methodist Church and was finally established in 1953 and initially located in Yavatmal, before relocating to Pune in 1983. It is affiliated with the Senate of Serampore College (University). It is the largest seminary under Wesleyan-Holiness movement in India. D. Jonadob Nathaniel is a New Testament Scholar and the current the Director, Translations at the Bible Society of India, Bangalore. Jonadob was Translations Advisor at the Bible Society of India and was involved in language translations and revisions of the Bible in many of the Indian languages. As a Translations Scholar, Jonadob Nathaniel has been an advocate of the Paratext utility developed by the United Bible Societies. In 2014, Jonadob led a Nepali language Bible Translation Workshop at Darjeeling.
