"C.C. Waterback" is a song recorded by American country music artists Merle Haggard and George Jones. It was released in December 1982 as the second single from the album '' A Taste of Yesterday's Wine''. The song reached #10 on the ''Billboard'' Hot Country Singles & Tracks chart. The song was written by Haggard. Content The song tells the story of a wild party "at the Jones' place" and the hangover that followed. At one point Merle laments that the woman he brought to the party "wound up in Jones' bed and I wound up on the floor." The track also features a New Orleans horn section. Merle Ronald Haggard (April 6, 1937 – April 6, 2016) was an American singer, songwriter, guitarist, and fiddler. Widely regarded as one of the greatest and most influential figures in country music, he was a central pioneer of the Bakersfield sound. With a career spanning over five decades, Haggard had 38 number-one hits on the US country charts, several of which also made the Billboard Hot 100, ''Billboard'' all-genre singles chart. Haggard overcame a troubled childhood, criminal convictions and time in prison to launch a successful country music career. Billy Bob's Texas is a country music nightclub located in the Fort Worth Stockyards, Texas, United States. It promotes itself as "The World's Largest Honky Tonk," at 100,000 square feet of interior space and nearly 20 acres of parking space. History Billy Bob Barnett, a Texas A&M University graduate and professional football player, teamed up with nightclub owner and former car salesman, Spencer Taylor. While looking for a location to fit their idea, the men decided upon an abandoned 100,000-square-foot department store that was at one time an open-air cattle barn. With some additional investors, Barnett and Taylor renovated the building's interior and exterior and opened the place to the public on April 1, 1981. George Jones
George Glenn Jones (September 12, 1931 – April 26, 2013) was an American Country music, country musician, singer, and songwriter. He achieved international fame for a long list of hit records, and is well known for his distinctive voice and phrasing. For the last two decades of his life, Jones is frequently referred to as "the greatest country singer", "The Rolls-Royce Motor Cars, Rolls-Royce of Country Music", and had more than 160 chart singles to his name from 1955 until his death in 2013. He served in the United States Marine Corps and was discharged in 1953. In 1959, Jones recorded "White Lightning (The Big Bopper song), White Lightning", written by The Big Bopper, which launched his career as a singer.
