C.A.F.B. is a Hungarian alternative rock band from Budapest, originally formed in 1990 with Gábor Szakácsi and Mihaly Szita. The band has been through several line-up changes between 2004 and 2014 but officially never broke up. After many short lived temporary line-ups the group reunited with its most successful late 1990s members in 2015. Name C.A.F.B. is an abbreviation for "Cops Are F*ing Bastards" (as The 4-Skins song "A.C.A.B.) which has been used by the band until 1997 when they signed to Premier Art Records. Then they started calling it simply "4 musical chords" because of pressure from the label's management. Sledgeback (stylized as Sledge𐐒ack) is a Seattle, Washington-based punk rock band, formed in early 2004, with Hungarian-born American guitarist Gábor Szakácsi (Gabi Hun) as the frontman. Former member of the long-standing influential Hungarian punk rock outfit C.A.F.B., Gabi Hun moved to Seattle not knowing a word of English, and soon after formed Sledgeback. Gábor Szakácsi
Gábor Szakácsi, also known as Gabi Hun or Gabor Hun, is a Hungarian-born American rock guitarist and vocalist, best known as the frontman of Seattle punk group Sledgeback. He fronted C.A.F.B., one of the most influential Hungarian punk bands of the 1990s, with whom he released six full-length albums between 1993 and 2017. After leaving Hungary, Hun started Sledgeback in 2004 and released several albums with the group. His distinct voice became the trademark of Sledgeback. Career Hun rose to fame in Hungary and its surrounding areas with his band C.A.F.B. following the success of their 1997 album "Zanza (album), Zanza" which launched the group into the country's mainstream. Despite its success the band was unable to work together due to Gabor Hun's drug related problems. Benedek Fliegauf
Benedek "Bence" Fliegauf (born 15 August 1974 in Budapest) is a Hungarian film director and screenwriter. Life and career Originally Fliegauf planned to become a writer. However, he had to abandon his plans due to a lack of finances. Instead, Fliegauf studied to become a stage designer between 1995 and 1998 and was hired as an assistant at Hungarian Television where he went on to become a director and editor. As assistant director, he studied under Miklós Jancsó and Árpád Sopsits. Fliegauf, who never attended film school, made his directorial debut in 1999 with the documentary ''Határvonal''. Success first came with ''Beszélő fejek'' (2001), a film made up of six stories of everyday urban life. Fliegauf received the Award for Best Experimental Film at the Hungarian Film Week for this 27-minute short film. Szakácsi is a village in Borsod-Abaúj-Zemplén County in northeastern Hungary Hungary is a landlocked country in Central Europe. The 4-Skins
The 4-Skins are a punk rock band from the East End of London, England. Originally composed of Gary Hodges (vocals), 'Hoxton' Tom McCourt (guitar), Steve 'H' Harmer (bass) and John Jacobs (drums), the group was formed in 1979 and disbanded in 1984 – although new line-ups formed in 2007 and 2008. Many of their songs dealt with violent topics, but the band has claimed they were discussing the realities of inner city life, not promoting violence. Other 4-Skins song topics include police harassment, political corruption, war and unemployment. Career The band members first met each other through mutual interest in football or in bands such as Sham 69 and Menace. Alternative Rock
Alternative rock (also known as alternative music, alt-rock or simply alternative) is a category of rock music that evolved from the independent music underground of the 1970s. Alternative rock acts achieved mainstream success in the 1990s with the likes of the grunge subgenre in the United States, and the Britpop and shoegaze subgenres in the United Kingdom and Ireland.
