Chümoukedima District
Chümoukedima District is the 15th district of the Indian state of Nagaland. It was created on 18 December 2021. The district is bounded by Kohima District to the east, Peren District to the south, Tseminyü District & Niuland District to the north-east, Dimapur District to the north and Karbi Anglong District of Assam to the west and north-west. The district headquarter is located in the municipality of Chümoukedima. History On 2 December 1997, a notification from the order of the Government of Nagaland under the then-Chief Minister S. C. Jamir declared the erstwhile- Dimapur Sub-Division of Kohima District as a full-fledged District with Chümoukedima as its district headquarter. University Grants Commission (UGC) is a statutory body set up by the Department of Higher Education, Ministry of Education, Government of India in accordance to the UGC Act 1956 and is charged with coordination, determination and maintenance of standards of higher education in India.
