Ballangen Municipality
Ballangen () is a List of former municipalities of Norway, former municipality in Nordland Counties of Norway, county, Norway. The municipality existed from 1925 until its dissolution in 2020 when it became part of Narvik Municipality. The municipality was part of the Districts of Norway, traditional district of Ofoten. The administrative centre of the municipality was the Ballangen (village), village of Ballangen. Other villages in the municipality included Bjørkåsen, Kjeldebotn, Kobbvika, and Skarstad, Nordland, Skarstad. Prior to its dissolution in 2020, the municipality was the 119th largest by area out of the 422 municipalities in Norway. Ballangen was the 292nd most populous municipality in Norway with a population of 2,470. The municipality's population density was and its population had decreased by 5.8% over the previous 10-year period. Ballangen (village)
or is a village in Narvik Municipality in Nordland county, Norway. The village is located at the western end of the Ballangen fjord, a small branch off the main Ofotfjorden. The European route E06 highway runs through the village. It is the main north-south route in Northern Norway. The village has a population (2023) of 817 and a population density of . The village economy is centered around the government services for the municipality as well as some manufacturing industry. Just outside the village is Ballangen Museum, which presents the extensive mining activity that has been in Ballangen since the 17th century. The village was the administrative centre of the old Ballangen Municipality until 2020 when it was merged into Narvik Municipality. References

Ballangen Church
Ballangen Church () is a parish church of the Church of Norway in Narvik Municipality in Nordland county, Norway. It is located in the village of Ballangen. It is one of the churches for the Ballangen parish which is part of the Ofoten prosti (deanery) in the Diocese of Sør-Hålogaland. The white, wooden church was built in a long church style in 1923 using plans drawn up by the architect Høyer Ellefsen. The church seats about 280 people. The building was consecrated on 6 June 1923 by Bishop Johan Støren. The church holds worship services two or three Sundays each month. The Ballangen Museum is a unit of Museum Nord, a Norwegian museum consortium.
