Jason Bajada is a Canadian singer-songwriter from Montreal, Quebec. Bajada released two albums, ''Puer Dolor'' in 2005 and ''Up Go the Arms'' in 2006, before signing to Maple Music Recordings/Universal, with whom he released his label debut ''Loveshit'' in 2009. He followed up in 2011 with ''The Sound Your Life Makes'', which reached number 57 on the Canadian Albums Chart. In addition to his English material, Bajada has released two French albums. ''Feel It Break'' is the debut studio album by Canadian electronic music band Austra. It was released on May 13, 2011, by Domino. The album received generally positive reviews from music critics, who complimented its production and the vocals of lead singer Katie Stelmanis and compared the band to artists such as Kate Bush, Cocteau Twins, Fever Ray, Zola Jesus, and Depeche Mode. It was shortlisted for the 2011 Polaris Music Prize, and received a Juno Award nomination for Electronic Album of the Year. ''Feel It Break'' spawned three singles: "Beat and the Pulse", "Lose It", and "Spellwork". Armistice (band)
Armistice was a Canadian indie pop band, consisting of Montreal singer-songwriter Béatrice Martin, better known by her stage name Coeur de pirate, and Jay Malinowski of Bedouin Soundclash.. chartattack.com, January 12, 2011. History Martin and Malinowski met at the 2010 Winter Olympics in Vancouver. They began a relationship and started playing music and writing songs. Jann Arden (born Jann Arden Anne Richards; March 27, 1962) is a Canadian singer-songwriter, author and actress. She is best known for her signature ballads, " Could I Be Your Girl" and " Insensitive", which is her biggest hit to date, as well as other ballads, such as "Cherry Popsicle" and "I Would Die for You". Early life and education Jann Arden was born in Calgary and moved as a child to Springbank, Alberta, where she attended Springbank Community High School. Arkells is a Canadian rock band, formed in Hamilton, Ontario. In 2006, they signed with Dine Alone Records, and have since signed with Universal Music Canada. Adam And The Amethysts
Adam and the Amethysts was a Canadian indie rock band formed in Montreal in 2004. The band was fronted by Adam Waito, a former member of Miracle Fortress. The band released two albums and toured mostly around North America. History Waito was born in Manitouwadge, Ontario, raised in Thunder Bay, Ontario and moved to Montreal in the early 2000s. He co-founded Telefauna in 2004, an indie-pop band whose that played the Pop Montreal festival three times. They released ''Their 1st EP'' in 2005 and a single "Under the Underground Water" b/w "Bamboo Shoot" in 2007.
