Peugeot 307
The Peugeot 307 is a small family car produced by the French automaker PSA Peugeot Citroën under their Peugeot marque, from 2001 to 2008 in Europe, and was the successor to the Peugeot 306, which was discontinued in 2002 after being in production for nine years. Using the PSA PF2 platform, it was awarded the European Car of the Year title for 2002, and continued to be offered in China and certain South American markets through 2014, despite the September 2007 French launch of the 308 (its intended successor), which is built on the same platform. History The 307 was announced as the 307 Prométhée prototype at the 2000 Mondial de l'Automobile. 2001 Tour De France
The 2001 Tour de France was a race stage, multiple-stage bicycle racing, bicycle race held from 7 to 29 July, and the 88th edition of the Tour de France. It has no overall winner—although American cyclist Lance Armstrong originally won the event, the United States Anti-Doping Agency announced in August 2012 that they had disqualified Armstrong from all his results since 1998, including his seven Tour de France wins from 1999 Tour de France, 1999 to 2005 Tour de France, 2005. The verdict was subsequently confirmed by the Union Cycliste Internationale. The 2001 French Grand Prix (officially the Mobil 1 Grand Prix de France) was a Formula One motor race held at the Circuit de Nevers Magny-Cours, Magny-Cours, France on 1 July 2001 before a crowd of 120,717 people. It was the tenth race of the 2001 Formula One World Championship and the 51st French Grand Prix as part of the series. Scuderia Ferrari, Ferrari driver Michael Schumacher won the 72-lap race starting from second position. Henricus Theodorus Josephus (Servais) Knaven (born 6 March 1971) is a Dutch professional road bicycle racer, currently sporting and technical manager for AG Insurance–Soudal–Quick-Step. He was previously a directeur sportif for Team Sky/Ineos Grenadiers. He rode at the 1992 Summer Olympics and the 2004 Summer Olympics. As a rider, Knaven won Paris–Roubaix in 2001 in wet and muddy conditions that soaked the cobblestones. With a strong representation of Domo–Farm Frites riders in the lead group, he launched an attack with to cover and crossed the line solo. His teammates Johan Museeuw and Romans Vainsteins followed, completing a rare 1–2–3. He is the second rider in history to start and finish the ''Hell of the North'' race 16 times. AZF (factory)
AZF (French initialism for ''AZote Fertilisant'', i.e. nitrogen fertilizer) was the name of a chemical factory in Toulouse, France, which exploded on 21 September 2001. The blast was equivalent to 20-40 tons of TNT, producing an earthquake with a magnitude of 3.4, and was heard 80 km (50 miles) away. The incident resulted in 31 deaths and left 2,500 wounded. Damages paid by insurance companies exceeded 1.5 billion euros. Although authorities initially treated the incident as an accident, the then Environment Minister speculated that the explosion may have been "a terrorist attack" in the wake of the September 11 attacks. The body of a worker known to harbor Islamic fundamentalist sympathies was found in the blast and investigated, although official investigation found the blast to be accidental. Santé Diabète (SD) (Health Diabetes) is a French non-governmental organization (NGOs) whose headquarters is in Grenoble (France) which is working on strengthening health systems to improve the preventive medicine, prevention and management of diabetes in Africa.
