Amt is a type of administrative division governing a group of municipalities, today only in Germany, but formerly also common in other countries of Northern Europe. Its size and functions differ by country and the term is roughly equivalent to a British or U.S. county. Zepelin
Zepelin () is a municipality in the Rostock district, in Mecklenburg-Vorpommern, Germany. It is part of the ''Amt'' (administrative division) Bützow Land. Geography It is located in the rural region of northern Mecklenburg, on the road from Bützow to Schwaan and Güstrow. Rostock () is a Districts of Germany, district in the north of Mecklenburg-Vorpommern, Germany. It is bounded by (from the west and clockwise) the district Nordwestmecklenburg, the Baltic Sea, the district-free city Rostock and the districts Vorpommern-Rügen, Mecklenburgische Seenplatte (district), Mecklenburgische Seenplatte and Ludwigslust-Parchim. The district seat is the town Güstrow. History Rostock District was established by merging the former districts of Bad Doberan (district), Bad Doberan and Güstrow (district), Güstrow as part of the local government reform of September 2011. The name of the district was decided by referendum on 4 September 2011. The project name for the district was ''Mittleres Mecklenburg''. Bützow
Bützow is a town in the district of Rostock in Mecklenburg-Vorpommern in north-eastern Germany, centered on Bützower See. History The town was first mentioned in 1171. From 1815 to 1918 Bützow was part of the Grand Duchy of Mecklenburg-Schwerin, from 1871 within the German Empire. From 1933 to 1945, during Nazi rule and World War II, a Nazi prison was operated in the Dreibergen district with multiple forced labour subcamps located in various places in the region. After the war, the town was part of East Germany until 1990. On 5 May 2015, the town was struck by an F3 tornado which caused severe damage to many buildings, including the local hospital. This tornado grew to 1.5 km wide (1500m) Culture Medieval Bützow Castle is located in Bützow. The town also has a medieval Brick Gothic church, which contains an altarpiece made by the Master of the Bützow Altarpiece (1503).
