Alexander Büttner (; born 11 February 1989) is a Dutch professional association football, footballer who plays as a left-back for club SBV Vitesse, Vitesse. Club career Vitesse Born in Doetinchem, Büttner began his career with local club VV Doetinchem, but spent his formative years with Jong Ajax, Ajax before joining SBV Vitesse, Vitesse at the age of 16 in 2005. After progressing through the ranks at the youth system and reserves, Büttner made his professional debut for Vitesse on 15 March 2008 against FC Twente, Twente after coming on as a substitute for Haim Megrelashvili in the sixth minute following his poor performance. Oskar Alexander Richard Büttner (28 September 1858 – 1927) was a German botanist and mineralogist who was involved in the exploration of the Congo Basin. Life Büttner was born in Brandenburg on 28 September 1858. He studied in Berlin, where he received his doctorate in 1883 with his dissertation ''Flora advena marchica''. He was a scientific participant in the German Congo Expedition of the African Society in Germany (1884–1886), which, under the direction of Eduard Schulze, was to serve the "exploration of the southern Congo Basin". It penetrated into areas unexplored from a European point of view. In 1890 he wrote ''Reisen im Kongolande'' about his travels. In 1890–1891 he was in charge of a research station in Bismarckburg, Togo. Lawrence David Biittner (July 27, 1946 – January 2, 2022) was an American outfielder and first baseman in Major League Baseball (MLB) who played for four teams from 1970 to 1983, most notably the Chicago Cubs and Washington Senators / Texas Rangers. He enjoyed his best season with the Cubs in 1977, batting .298 with 12 home runs and 62 runs batted in (RBI), and posting career highs in nearly every category. Theodora Büttner (born Theodora Reichel; 17 June 1930) is a retired East German historian. For many years she was a professor at the Karl Marx University (as it was known at the time) in Leipzig. Much of her own research was focused on the precolonial history of Africa and on the anti-colonial liberation movements. Life Theodora Reichel was born in Thum, a small former mining town in the hills south of Chemnitz. Her mother worked in retailing and her father was employed as a businessman. Steffen Büttner (; born 2 November 1963) is a German former professional footballer who played as a defender. Career Büttner began his career with Dynamo Dresden, making his debut in 1984. He established himself in the Dynamo first team throughout the late 1980s, winning two East German titles, and two Cups.
