	Eduard Bøckmann Eduard Bøckmann (8 March 1849 – 8 August 1927) was a Norwegian American ophthalmologist, physician and inventor. Background Eduard Bøckmann was born in Østre Toten in Oppland county, Norway. He was the son of Daniel Peter Barth Bøckmann (1793–1877) and Dina Severine Dreier (1811–1885). He enrolled as a student in 1867 and graduated with the cand.med. degree in 1874. He married Anne Sophie Dorothea Gill in Kaupanger in September 1875. He settled in Bergen and worked there until 1886. During this period, in 1882 he took the dr.med. degree on the thesis ''Om den ved Trigeminusanæsthesi forekommende Hornhindelidelses Væsen og Aarsager''. The ailments he described often occurred in leprosy patients. Bøckmann had spent a year from 1880 to 1881 as a physician at a lepra institution. 	Carl Wilhelm Bøckmann Barth Carl Wilhelm Bøckmann Barth (9 November 1847 – 12 January 1919) was a Norwegian military officer and painter who specialized in marine art. Carl Wilhelm Bøckmann Barth was born in Christiania (now Oslo), Norway. He was the son of circuit judge Daniel Nikolaj Barth (1810–1880) and his wife Marie Cathrine Koefoed (1815–1853). Barth served in the Royal Norwegian Navy from 1863 until 1884; retiring as a first lieutenant. Barth studied painting under Hans Gude at the Karlsruhe in Berlin from 1881 to 1883. He spent part of 1889 and 1890 in London, partly on study trips along the English coast, especially at Dover. He later traveled to Paris and Brittany in 1896 and 1897. He was in Italy and Tunisia from 1902 to 1903. In addition, he made numerous study trips along the Norwegian coast as well as to Skagen. 	Jacob Bøckmann Barth Jacob Bøckmann Barth (11 March 1822 – 27 March 1892 in Lillehammer) was a Norwegian forester. Barth was born in Kristiansand to second lieutenant Nicolai Bøckmann Barth (1797–1846) and Elisabeth Charlotte Bruun (1796–1873). In 1855, he married Adelaide Magdalene Lange (1828–97), daughter of priest Carl Georg Lange (1778–1850) and Inger Sye. 	Marcus Olaus Bockman Marcus Olaus Bockman (January 9, 1849 – July 21, 1942) was a Norwegian-American Lutheran theologian. Background Marcus Olaus Bockman was born Marcus Olaus Bøckmann at Langesund in Bamble municipality, Telemark county, Norway. He was educated at Egersund High School, Aars and Voss Latin School, and the University of Christiania (Oslo). After graduating as a Candidatus theologiæ, he was ordained as a priest of the Church of Norway. Career Bockman immigrated to the United States in 1875. He served as a Lutheran pastor near Kenyon, Minnesota at Gol Lutheran Church from 1875 to 1880 and at Moland Lutheran Church from 1880 to 1888. Having first worked as a Lutheran pastor for several years, he was appointed as a Professor of Theology at the Luther Theological Seminary operated by the Norwegian Synod in Saint Paul, Minnesota in 1886–90.
