Báez
Báez is a Cuban village and ''consejo popular'' ("people's council", i.e. hamlet) of the municipality of Placetas, in Villa Clara Province. In 2011 it had a population of around 7,000. History The village was founded in 1804 with the name ''Hato de La Manigua'', and some years later was named after a Spain, Spanish general named Guillermo Báez. Don José "Pepin" Garcia is the CEO of El Rey de los Habanos, Inc, a cigar company in Miami, also known as My Father Cigars. He is a noted cigar maker living in Miami, Florida. Mataguá
Mataguá is a Cuban village and ''consejo popular'' ("people's council", i.e. hamlet) of the municipality of Manicaragua, in Villa Clara Province. With a population of ca. 10,000, it is the most populated village in the municipality after Manicaragua. History Founded in 1868 as a farm estate owned by a Spanish people, Spanish man named Jacinto Rivero, it was sold some years later to Susano Rodríguez, who changed its Taíno language, aboriginal name, Mataguá, to ''Palma Sola''. In 1904, the property was transferred to the brothers Pablo and Belisario Millar Vila. The new owners restored the estate's original name, Mataguá. The village was connected to the Mains electricity, mains in 1927, and had a train station on a no longer active line. The town is also known as because of its wild Lauraceae, laurel trees. Placetas is also a , one of 13 subdivisions of the Villa Clara Province. Casilda is a Cuban village and ''consejo popular'' ("people's council", i.e. hamlet) of the municipality of Trinidad, Sancti Spíritus Province. Casilda is a seaside resort, due to the presence of tourist beaches such as Playa Ancón. History The village was founded in 1808 by Andrés Valdés Pino, in the vicinity of a farm named Peralta. Casilda's population in 1943 was 1,986. Geography Casilda is located south of Trinidad (5 km ) by the Gulf of Ana María, on the Caribbean coast. It lies on the Casilda Bay, enclosed by the Ancón Peninsula, on which are located several hotels of Playa Ancón. Trinidad () is a town in the province of Sancti Spíritus, central Cuba. Together with the nearby Valle de los Ingenios, it has been a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1988, because of its historical importance as a center of the sugar trade in the 18th and 19th centuries.
