Buskerud Folk High School ( no, Buskerud Folkehøgskole) is a secular folk high school located in Darbu, Øvre Eiker municipality, Buskerud county, Norway. It identifies itself as an art and culture school, and admits about 90 students every year. It is owned by the Buskerud school association, and its current principal is Mariann Aaland. Darbu
Darbu is a village within the parish of Fiskum, in the municipality of Øvre Eiker, Buskerud County, Norway. The population of the village was 539 as of 2019. Darbu is located on the Sørland Line Railway, 81.61 km from Oslo, about midway between Kongsberg and Hokksund. Darbu Station was opened in 1871 when the railway branch line between Hokksund and Kongsberg was completed. Fiskum Old Church (''Fiskum Gamle Kirke'') is the community's most important heritage site. This is a medieval, Romanesque church dating from approximately 1200 A.D. Øvre Eiker
Øvre Eiker is a municipality in the traditional and electoral district Buskerud in Viken county, Norway. It is part of the traditional region of Eiker. The administrative centre of the municipality is the village of Hokksund. The old municipality of Eiker was divided into ''Øvre Eiker'' (upper Eiker) and ''Nedre Eiker'' (lower) on 1 July 1885. Buskerud
Buskerud () is a former county and a current electoral district in Norway, bordering Akershus, Oslo, Oppland, Sogn og Fjordane, Hordaland, Telemark and Vestfold. The region extends from the Oslofjord and Drammensfjorden in the southeast to Hardangervidda mountain range in the northwest. The county administration was in modern times located in Drammen. Buskerud was merged with Akershus and Østfold into the newly created Viken County on 1 January 2020. Aslak Torjusson
Aslak Torjusson (4 March 1891 – 26 April 1973) was a Norway, Norwegian educator. He was born in Rauland. He took teacher's education in Holmestrand Seminary, Holmestrand in 1912, examen artium, finished secondary education in 1918 and graduated from the University of Oslo, Royal Frederick University with the cand.philol. degree in 1923. While doing so he was a primary school teacher from 1912 to 1920 and then a teacher at Telemark Folk High School for four years. From 1927 to 1936 he was the secretary of Noregs MÃ¥llag. He was then the headmaster of Buskerud Folk High School from 1936 to 1952 and lecturer at Sagene Teachers' College from 1952 to 1961. He was also a board member of the Norwegian Broadcasting Corporation from 1933 to 1947. He issued the book ''Frøydis Haavardsholm og norsk leid i dekorativ kunst'' in 1933.
