Business Today (BBC News Programme)
''Business Today'' is a television business news programme produced by BBC News and shown on BBC News Channel and BBC One on weekdays. Each edition lasts 25minutes. The 05:30 edition is also seen on BBC One and the 11:30 edition also airs on BBC Two during their simulcasts of BBC News Channel. The main presenters of the programme are Sally Bundock, Ben Thompson, Michelle Fleury (New York) and Steve Lai (Singapore). Other business journalists act as relief presenters. This show was introduced to replace '' World Business Report'' and also Asia Business Report that has been run for almost 20-30 years. During the 14:30 segment the show is renamed ''Business Today - NYSE Opening Bell'', focussing on the New York Stock Exchange. BBC News is an operational business division of the British Broadcasting Corporation (BBC) responsible for the gathering and broadcasting of news and current affairs in the UK and around the world. ''Africa Business Report'' is a business news programme produced by BBC News and is shown on BBC World News. This programme was launched on 2 February 2009 as a monthly half-hour programme presented by Komla Dumor. Following a hiatus on 1 August 2011, the programme was relaunched on 6 October 2013 and is now aired worldwide as a weekly 20-minute programme. The program aired its final episode on 25 May 2018. Mariko Oi
is a Japanese bilingual journalist based in Singapore, who has worked for the BBC since 2006, when she became the network's first Japanese reporter. Tanya Louise Beckett (born 11 July 1966) is an English television and radio journalist. Early life Beckett was born in 1966 in Maldon, Essex. She has one brother. She was educated at the independent Redland High School for Girls in Bristol, England, followed by Pembroke College, Oxford, where she gained a degree in metallurgy and materials science and a Blue in fencing. Samantha Rose Simmonds (born ) is an English newsreader, television presenter and journalist. She was a news anchor for Sky News until July 2016. ''Worklife'' (Previously ''Business Edition'' and ''Business Live'') is a news programme that premiered on BBC World News on 1 February 2010 as part of a network-wide refresh. The programme is presented by Tanya Beckett (Monday–Thursday) and Jamie Robertson (Friday). The programme examines the inner workings of business, translating complex financial stories to give viewers a clearer understanding of the rapidly changing global economy, and how it will impact on their lives.
