Gilbert Joseph "Bus" Griffiths (1913 – September 25, 2006) was a cartoonist, lumberjack, and fisherman. He was best known for his graphic novel ''Now You're Logging'', published 1978 by Harbour Publishing. ''Now You're Logging'' presented, in cartoon form, a complete look at the techniques, tools, and personalities of logging on the West Coast in the 1930s. He began drawing cartoons while working as a logger, doing work for Vancouver's Maple Leaf Publishing during World War II and comic strips about logging for ''BC Lumberman'' magazine. He retired from logging in 1961 and began work as a commercial fisherman. In 1972 he began work on ''Now You're Logging'' to document logging in the era before modern technology. Bus Mertes
Bernard James "Bus" Mertes (October 6, 1921 – January 17, 2002) was an American football player and coach. He played college football at the University of Iowa and professionally in the National Football League (NFL) and the All-America Football Conference (AAFC) with the Chicago Cardinals, Los Angeles Dons, Baltimore Colts, and New York Giants. Mertes served as the head football coach at Bradley University from 1951 to 1952, at Kansas State University from 1955 to 1959, and at Drake University from 1960 to 1964, compiling a career college football coaching record of 50–63–1. Bus Whitehead
Milton Edgar "Bus" Whitehead (January 13, 1928 – June 11, 2010). was an American basketball player. He was an All-conference college player for the University of Nebraska and was an AAU All-American for league power Phillips 66. Whitehead came to the Cornhuskers from Scottsbluff, Nebraska and led the Huskers to back to back Big Seven Conference titles in 1949 and 1950. In the 1948–49 season, Whitehead teamed with guard Claude Retherford as the Huskers tied Oklahoma for the Big Seven title. After Retherford's graduation, Whitehead became the focal point of the Nebraska offense for 1949–50. Averaging 15.7 points per game (then a school single-season record), Whitehead was the only unanimous member of the Big Seven all-conference first team. Edward Clifford "Bus" Wilbert, Jr. (September 2, 1915 – August 11, 1946) was an American racecar driver. He was born in Brooklyn, New York, and was killed at the age of 31 on August 11, 1946, while in the middle of a race in Indiana. Career He was a racecar driver of both big cars and midgets. His first dirt track racing competition was in 1941, while previous to that he raced midget auto races. In 1941 he joined the U.S. Navy as a test pilot and flight instructor. James "Bus" Cook is an NFL sports agent. Early life Cook was born and raised in Man, West Virginia. Cook attended American University on a basketball scholarship. In 1970, he enrolled in law school at the University of Mississippi. He received his law degree in 1974 and began working as an attorney for Fairchild Construction Company in Hattiesburg, a job he held until he saved up enough money to open his own private practice in 1976. After ten years, he briefly looked into the possibility of representing NBA players, but that didn't work out and Cook had no further plans of venturing into the world of sports agency until he met Favre. Harry Yourell
Harry "Bus" Yourell (February 19, 1919 – September 19, 2011) was an American politician. Yourell was born in Hammond, Indiana on February 27, 1919. He attended high school in Chicago and La Salle Extension University. During World War II, he served in the United States Marine Corps and was awarded a Bronze Star and Purple Heart. After the war, Yourell moved to Oak Lawn, Illinois and opened Bus' Drive In. From 1959 to 1963 he served as a Trustee for the Village of Oak Lawn. He was involved with the Worth Township Regular Democratic Club and at the time of his election to the Illinois House of Representatives was the Democratic Committeeman of Worth Township.
