Burgwall-Stadion
The Burgwall-Stadion is a football stadium in the northernmost part of the German city of Bremen. The Burgwall Stadium is the competition and training facility of the Blumenthaler SV, the district sports facility at Burgwall, which includes the stadium, three football pitches and a hall. Since the opening game against SV Werder Bremen on September 9, 1951, the Blumenthalers regularly play their home games here. History The facility was built in the early 1950s and on the 9th September 1951 with a friendly match between Blumenthaler SV and Werder Bremen. Blumenthaler SV played for four years in the then third-class Oberliga Nord and one year in the fourth-class Oberliga Niedersachsen/Bremen. Blumenthaler SV is a German association football club from Blumenthal, the northernmost district of the city of Bremen. The club was established 6 June 1919 as ''Blumenthaler Sportverein'' by former members of ''Blumenthaler Fußballverein 1912''. ''FV'' was the successor to ''Spiel- und Sport Blumenthal'' and is part of the historical tradition of '' SG Aumund-Vegesack'', which is still active today. As a worker's club, ''SV'' was part of the Arbeiter-Turn- und Sportbund (ATSB) in the 1920s and early 1930s. The Oberliga Niedersachsen/Bremen was the fourth tier of the German football league system in the north of Germany, existing from 1994 to 2004. It covered the states of Lower Saxony and Bremen. With the re-formation of the Oberliga Nord in 2004, the league was disbanded. Overview The Oberliga Niedersachsen/Bremen started out in 1994 as a replacement for the Oberliga Nord, which was disbanded in that year. Along with this league, the Oberliga Hamburg/Schleswig-Holstein was formed to cover the other two of the four states the Oberliga Nord previously had served. The DFB-Pokal ( is a German knockout football cup competition held annually by the German Football Association (DFB). Sixty-four teams participate in the competition, including all clubs from the Bundesliga and the 2. Bundesliga. It is considered the second-most important club title in German football after the Bundesliga championship. Taking place from August until May, the winner qualifies for the DFL-Supercup and the UEFA Europa League unless the winner already qualifies for the UEFA Champions League in the Bundesliga. The competition was founded in 1935, then called the '' Tschammer-Pokal''. The first titleholders were 1. FC Nürnberg. In 1937, Schalke 04 were the first team to win the double. Bundesautobahn 270
is an autobahn in Germany. The A 270 was created in 2001 as a redesignation of the freeway into the northern part of Bremen. Previously, the freeway was known as the B 74n ''Lesumerschnellweg''. The freeway replaced the route of the B 74 through the populated areas of northern Bremen. Recent plans called for an extension of the A 270 around the northern and eastern boundaries of Farge, to end across the street from the terminal of the Farge - Berne ferry. This project was opened to traffic on December 9, 2009. However, it was a built as an at-grade expressway instead, thus requiring the return of the B 74n designation. Because it cuts through a densely developed area, the A 270 is below normal autobahn standards for most of its route.
