Bureau For Economic Policy Analysis
The Netherlands Bureau for Economic Policy Analysis (, CPB, literal translation: Central Planning Bureau) is a part of the Ministry of Economic Affairs of the Netherlands. Its goal is to deliver economic analyses and forecasts. The CPB is an independent government agency founded at 15 September 1945 by Nobel laureate Jan Tinbergen. On 21 April 1947, it obtained its legal basis. It is located in The Hague, on Bezuidenhoutseweg. The CPB sets its own research agenda, but it is open to requests for policy research from the Dutch government, Parliaments and political parties and ministries of the Netherlands. It also provides reports and advice for European Union initiatives. The CPB is financed by the Ministry of Economic Affairs, but it operates independently. This means it does have a stable income but also does not have to follow the ministry. This combination is the foundation for the unique status of the CPB. Ministry Of Economic Affairs (Netherlands)
The Ministry of Economic Affairs (; EZ) is the Netherlands' ministry responsible for international trade, commercial, industrial, investment, technology, space policy, as well as tourism. The Ministry was created in 1905 as the Ministry of Agriculture, Industry and Commerce and has had several name changes before it became the Ministry of Economic Affairs in 1946. In 2010 the Ministry of Agriculture, Nature and Food Quality was merged with the Ministry of Economic Affairs, which was renamed as the Ministry of Economic Affairs, Agriculture and Innovation. In 2012 the name was reverted as the Ministry of Economic Affairs but kept the responsibilities of the former Ministry of Agriculture. Henri (Hans) Theil (October 13, 1924 – August 20, 2000) was a Dutch econometrician and professor at the Netherlands School of Economics in Rotterdam, known for his contributions to the field of econometrics. Jan Sandee (9 December 1919 in Rotterdam – 21 July 2011 in Boskoop) was a Dutch economist, consultant and Professor of Econometrics at the Netherlands School of Economics, Rotterdam, who headed the Econometric Institute from 1966 to 1971. Per Schreiner (14 July 1932 – 28 October 2005) was a Norwegian economist and civil servant. Biography He was born in Oslo as a son of Fredrik Schreiner (1905–1988) and Signy Rønneberg (1903–1983). He was a grandson of Kristian and Alette Schreiner, and a nephew of Johan Schreiner. After finishing his secondary education in 1950, he enrolled at the University of Oslo. He graduated with the cand.oecon. degree in 1958. He worked as a researcher and assistant at the University of Oslo, the Centraal Planbureau, and Stanford University in the United States. Jan Salomon (Mars) Cramer (28 April 1928 – 15 March 2014) was a Dutch economist, Professor of Statistics and Econometrics at the University of Amsterdam, known for his work of empirical econometrics.
