Burak Haşhaş
Burak Haşhaş (born 8 April 2006) is a Turkish international carom billiards player specialized in three-cushion events. He is European U-17 and world U-22 champion. Private life Burak Haşhaş was born in Istanbul, Turkey on 8 April 2006. His father is an amateur billiard player. He is a high school student in Istanbul. Early years Burak Haşhaş started billiard playing at the age of 9–10. In the beginning, he did not intend to pursue a billiard player career, since was playing football. In 202, he switched over to billiards, quiting playing football. In February 2020 and April 2021, he placed third at the Turkish Juniors Championships. Later, in October and November that year, he was Turkish juniors champion. In 2022, he achieved his first Turkish campion title, and became European champion in U-17 small table championship. Gülşen Degener (born 25 October 1968, in Şanlıurfa) is a female Turkish-born, Germany-resident professional carom billiards player. Career Gülşen Degener was born in Şanlıurfa, southeastern Turkey on October 25, 1968. She began playing billiards while she was at Uludağ University in Bursa, Turkey, studying English philology and literature. After graduation, she served four years in Istanbul and three years in Berlin, Germany as a teacher for English language. During her stay in the Netherlands, she played in the Dutch Billiards League. In the summer of 2013, she quit her profession as a teacher in Germany, which she had taken a break as she received an offer in the Netherlands to switch over to professional billiards player. The Confédération Européene de Billard (CEB) is the European governing body of carom billiards and is affiliated to the world federation UMB. History The CEB was founding on 12 July 1958 in Geneva. Its predecessor was the Fédération Internationale de Billard (FIB). Semih Saygıner (born on November 12, 1964), nicknamed Mr. Magic or The Turkish Prince, is a Turkish world champion professional carom billiards player specialized in three-cushion event. Family life Semih Saygıner was born to a tailor father Faruk and a homemaker mother Süreyya in Adapazarı, Turkey on November 12, 1964. He is the fifth of six siblings. His parents passed away due to a traffic accident in 1978 when he was 14 years old, afterwards, Saygıner started playing billiards. He had a good performance in high school but left due to depression over the loss of his mother and father. Saygıner opened up a billiards hall, and taught the cue sport.
