Bundesvision Song Contest
The Bundesvision Song Contest (often shortened BSC or BuViSoCo) was a song competition held annually between the sixteen states of Germany. Created by German entertainer Stefan Raab and aired live on ProSieben, the show was loosely based on the Eurovision Song Contest, with slightly different rules aiming at promoting German-language music by requiring that at least 50% of each song's lyrics were performed in German. History The Bundesvision Song Contest was created by Stefan Raab in 2005, in the vein of the Eurovision Song Contest. The contest was held annually between 2005 and 2015, however, after Raab retired in late 2015, the 2016 edition of the contest was not held, although the show was not officially cancelled. The contest was not held since, and in June 2019, ProSieben stated that it was not planning to produce further editions. Stefan Raab
Stefan Konrad Raab (born 20 October 1966) is a German entertainer, television host, television producer, and businessman. From 1999 to 2015, he hosted the late-night talk show, late-night comedy talk show ''TV total'' on ProSieben. He also created a number of other television shows on the channel, such as ''Schlag den Raab'' and ''Bundesvision Song Contest''. Raab began his TV career hosting the comedy show ''Vivasion'' in 1993. He became well known in 1994 after composing a hit single spoofing national football coach Berti Vogts. In the early 2010s, Raab was considered the "most powerful man in German entertainment television". Raab is also known for his recurring role as either producer, writer and/or performer of the German entries to the Eurovision Song Contest from 1998 to 2012. Marta Jandová
Marta Verner (née Jandová; born 13 April 1974) is a Czech singer, best known for being the lead singer of the German alternative rock band Die Happy. She represented the Czech Republic in the Eurovision Song Contest 2015 along with Václav Noid Bárta with the song " Hope Never Dies". Career In 2005, Jandová performed with Finnish metal band Apocalyptica and represented Baden-Württemberg in the Bundesvision Song Contest 2005 with the song "Wie weit", placing 5th with 77 points. She returned to the Bundesvision Song Contest in 2007, performing with Neue Deutsche Härte band Oomph! whilst representing Lower Saxony with the song " Träumst du?", winning the contest with 147 points. Bundesvision Song Contest 2011
The Bundesvision Song Contest 2011 was the seventh edition of the annual Bundesvision Song Contest musical event. The contest was held on 29 September 2011 at the Lanxess Arena in Cologne, North Rhine-Westphalia, following Unheilig's win in the 2010 contest in Berlin with the song " Unter deiner Flagge". This was the second time that North Rhine-Westphalia had hosted the contest, after previously hosting in the first contest Oberhausen in 2005. The contest was hosted by Stefan Raab, Johanna Klum, with Lena Meyer-Landrut; Germany's Eurovision Song Contest 2010 winner, and representative in the Eurovision Song Contest 2011 conducting interviews in the green room, whilst regular green room host Elton sat in the fan block. Unheilig (German for "Unholy") is a German band that draws from a variety of influences, including various Pop music, pop and Electronic music, electronic styles as well as heavier, Nihilism, nihilistic hard rock. The band was founded in Aachen in 1999 and principally consisted of singer Bernd Heinrich "Der Graf" (the Count) along with various musical partners. The Bundesvision Song Contest 2010 was the sixth edition of the annual Bundesvision Song Contest musical event. The contest was held on 1 October 2010 at the Max-Schmeling-Halle, Berlin, following Peter Fox's win in the 2009 contest in Brandenburg with the song " Schwarz zu blau". This was the second time that Berlin had hosted the contest, after previously hosting in 2007. The contest was hosted by Stefan Raab, Johanna Klum, and Elton in the green room. Pierre Steffen Baigorry (born 3 September 1971), better known as Peter Fox, is a German singer, rapper, songwriter and musician. He is a member of the German reggae and dancehall band Seeed. Solo career Fox started working on a solo album named ''Stadtaffe'' ("Urban Ape") in 2007. The album was released in Germany on 26 September 2008. The contest was held on 13 February 2009 at the in Potsdam, Brandenburg, following Subway to Sally's win in the 2008 contest in Lower Saxony with the song " Auf Kiel". The contest was hosted by Stefan Raab, Johanna Klum, and Elton in the green room. This was the first contest in which a public service broadcaster, Bayern 3, supported the contest. Subway To Sally
Subway to Sally is a German medieval metal band founded in Potsdam in the early 1990s. Their music has clear Folk music, folk and Medieval music, medieval influences, later also adding Gothic metal, gothic and metal elements. With their continuous inclusion of oriental sounds and elements of classical music and the use of instruments seldom seen in metal bands such as bagpipes, shawm, violin, hurdy-gurdy and lute, Subway to Sally has acquired the label of medieval metal.
