Bundesautobahn 524
is an autobahn in Germany. The A 524 is a short connector, heading west from Breitscheid and the A 52 towards Krefeld. The autobahn was built in the 1980s by upgrading the B 288. A short (1 km) section of freeway from the A 57 into Krefeld is also designated as part of the A 524. Currently, an extension westward to the A 59 is listed as "high priority" in the latest ''Bundesverkehrswegeplan'' (Federal Transport Infrastructure Plan), and has started construction with completion slated for 2013. This project will be accompanied by a new free-flowing 4-way interchange to replace two low-capacity junctions: a T-intersection with the A 59 and a half-folded-diamond interchange with the B 8. Completion of the interchange is also set for 2013, with the older junctions expected to be closed at the same time. is an autobahn in western Germany. It starts at the Dutch-German border near the community of Niederkrüchten, district of Viersen. From Niederkrüchten, it runs northeast. Its westernmost part serves as an important commuter route into Düsseldorf. The autobahn becomes Bundesstraße 7, Bundesstraße 7 shortly before the Rheinkniebrücke, which leads into the Düsseldorf city centre. Krefeld ( , ; ), also spelled Crefeld until 1925 (though the spelling was still being used in British papers throughout the Second World War), is a city in North Rhine-Westphalia, in western Germany. Bundesautobahn 57
is a German Autobahn that begins at the Dutch-German border near Goch and ends in Köln. It runs parallel to the Rhine River. Neuss and Krefeld are the biggest cities on this motorway. The A 57 is a continuation of the Dutch A77. Because of its high economic importance, its nickname is "Trans-Niederrhein-Magistrale". Most of it is two lanes each way and prone to traffic jams during rush hour. Currently, sections 15–18, 19–24, and 29–30 have three lanes each way. The section from junction 28 to 29 southbound has the possibility to open the hard shoulder as a third lane in heavy traffic. Traffic jams are possible between junctions 10 and 15, 17 and 20, as well as around junctions 27 and 28. There is a variable speed limit between junctions 10 and 23. Lintorf is a village at the transition of the Berg region into the lower Rhine plain in North Rhine-Westphalia, Germany. Since 1975 it has been a quarter of the city of Ratingen.
