Bummerland
"Bummerland" is a song by American pop band AJR. It was released on August 31, 2020 via S-Curve Records as the second single from the band's fourth studio album ''OK Orchestra''. Background During the Neotheater World Tour, the band began writing the song's instrumental, teasing it as a "confidential new AJR song" in episode 4 of their autobiographical documentary series ''Neotheater World Tour Doc''. In an interview on '' Zach Sang Show'', Jack Met mentions that the song had six different choruses written for it over the instrumental's lifetime, but were unable to find one that fit. The last chorus revision, written during the COVID-19 pandemic, was titled "Outside". AJR member Adam Met states that it was the only song on ''OK Orchestra'' that he did not like, with the meaning of the lyrics being mistakenly confused for socialized medicine. AJR planned on releasing " World's Smallest Violin" as a single in June 2020, but opted not to out of respect to the Black Lives Matter mov ...

OK Orchestra
''OK Orchestra'' (stylized in all uppercase), often abbreviated as ''OKO'', is the fourth studio album by American pop band AJR. It was released on March 26, 2021, by the band's own label AJR Productions. The album was supported by five singles, "Bang!", "Bummerland", "My Play", "Way Less Sad", and "World's Smallest Violin". The album was produced by group member Ryan Met. Background During a majority of the production of ''OK Orchestra'', the album was titled ''Mad Orchestra'', with AJR intending to make a " Bang!"-esque "dark and evil sounding" album. The band later decided on a more "melancholy, longing, and hopeful" sound, thinking of the negative mental repercussions that would come with writing a dark album. They replaced the album's "Mad" prefix with "OK" to represent the album's theme of "being worried about becoming irrelevant and obsolete" in the future but feeling OK in the current moment. In an interview alongside Rivers Cuomo, AJR confirmed that the title of ''OK Or ...

"World's Smallest Violin" is a song recorded by the American pop band AJR. It was released on March 26, 2021, as the 11th track from the band's fourth studio album ''OK Orchestra'' and as a music video. In the first half of 2022, the song became a viral song on the social media platform TikTok, with many using the ending verse and the line "I'll blow up into smithereens" as a soundbite on the site as fan edits or by throwing back to viral videos. Background and composition "World's Smallest Violin" was initially planned as the album's second single with a release date in June 2020, but was later switched with "Bummerland" as the band felt the latter worked better as "the anthem of hesummer". The song speaks about trying to minimize one's pain and comparing one's pain to another's, for example, seeing a therapist and having a grandfather that fought in World War II and a great-grandfather who was a fireman. My Play
"My Play" is a song by American pop band AJR. It was released on December 22, 2020 via S-Curve Records as the third single from the band's fourth studio album ''OK Orchestra''. Background Adam, Jack, and Ryan Metzger share parents who divorced during their childhood. Jack told ABC Audio that "many other artists have written about divorces, people can be desensitized about the topic". After coming up with the idea of a child performing a play twice to divorced parents, they felt they had a "fresh angle". In an interview on '' Zach Sang Show'', Jack explains this as "putting on a play for your parents which is the most exciting thing in the world when you're five years old... and the feeling of showing both of your parents is the best thing in the world, and now that is gone, it's taken away from you, and that is such a devastating thing". "My Play" was initially planned to have an electric guitar for the main melody, but while writing the song Ryan used a MIDI "wonky clean guitar ...

Cut (transition)
In the post-production process of film editing and video editing, a cut is an abrupt, but usually trivial film transition from one sequence to another. It is synonymous with the term ''edit'', though "edit" can imply any number of transitions or effects. The cut, dissolve (film), dissolve, and wipe (transition), wipe serve as the three primary transitions. The term refers to the physical action of cutting film or videotape, but also refers to a similar edit performed in software; it has also become associated with the resulting visual "break". History Due to the short length of early film stock, Film splicer, splicing was necessary to join together segments into long-form. Actuality films, Actuality director (film), directors spliced together reels prior to Shot (film), shooting to record for longer periods of time. Narrative directors, on the other hand, preferred shooting for shorter lengths, editing together shot footage. In either case, film was cut (and subsequently joining t ...

Rust
Rust is an iron oxide, a usually reddish-brown oxide formed by the reaction of iron and oxygen in the catalytic presence of water or air moisture. Rust consists of hydrous iron(III) oxides (Fe2O3·nH2O) and iron(III) oxide-hydroxide (FeO(OH), Fe(OH)3), and is typically associated with the corrosion of refined iron. Given sufficient time, any iron mass, in the presence of water and oxygen, could eventually convert entirely to rust. Surface rust is commonly flaky and friable, and provides no passivational protection to the underlying iron unlike other metals such as aluminum, copper, and tin which form stable oxide layers. ''Rusting'' is the common term for corrosion of elemental iron and its alloys such as steel. Many other metals undergo similar corrosion, but the resulting oxides are not commonly called "rust". Several forms of rust are distinguishable both visually and by spectroscopy, and form under different circumstances. Other forms of rust include the result of r ...
