Arthur Henry Bullen, often known as A. H. Bullen (9 February 1857, London – 29 February 1920, Stratford-on-Avon), was an English editor in chief, editor and publisher, a specialist in 16th century in literature, 16th- and 17th century in literature, 17th-century literature, founder of the Shakespeare Head Press, which for its first decades was a publisher of fine editions in the tradition of the Kelmscott Press, and poet. His father, George Bullen (librarian), George Bullen (d. 1894), was a librarian at the British Museum. A. H. Bullen's interest in Elizabethan literature, Elizabethan dramatists and poets started at the City of London School, before he went to Worcester College, Oxford, to study classics. Nicholas Bullen
Nicholas Bullen (sometimes called Nik Napalm; born 1968) is an English musician and a founding member of the grindcore band Napalm Death. Biography Bullen is one of the founding members – with Miles "Rat" Ratledge – of Napalm Death, the band credited with creating the Grindcore genre. The duo had collaborated on fanzines and played together in a number of 'bedroom' bands from 1980 onwards and formed the first line-up of Napalm Death in May 1981 (when Bullen and Ratledge were 13 and 14 years old respectively). Bullen was initially the vocalist in the group, but later began to play bass and vocals after Justin Broadrick (Godflesh and Jesu) was invited to join the group on guitar in 1985. Arlington, Wisconsin
Arlington is a village in Columbia County, Wisconsin, United States. The population was 844 at the 2020 census. The village is located within the Town of Arlington. It is part of the Madison Metropolitan Statistical Area. History Arlington was originally settled in 1838. The village was platted in 1871 by David Bullen and Mrs. Sarah Pierce, who then owned all the land comprising the current village. Winslow Bullen
Winslow Bullen (April 27, 1826October 17, 1909) was an American farmer, Republican politician, and Wisconsin pioneer. He was a member of the Wisconsin State Assembly, representing southeast Columbia County during the 1870 term. He was one of the founders of Arlington, Wisconsin. Biography Winslow Bullen was born in Oswego County, New York, in 1826. He received his early education there, but came west with his parents in 1836. In the Wisconsin Territory, he and his parents, along with extended family, became some of the founders of Kenosha, Wisconsin. In the mid-1850s, Bullen moved west to Columbia County, Wisconsin, and settled in the town of Arlington. He established a farm there and became active in local affairs. William Bullen (Kenosha Pioneer)
William Bullen (February 24, 1805October 27, 1846) was an American merchant and Wisconsin pioneer. He was one of the first American settlers in what is now Kenosha, Wisconsin, and represented Racine County in the Wisconsin Territory's legislative assembly. Biography William Bullen was born in Clinton, Oneida County, New York, in 1805, and was raised in New York. In December 1834, he joined a meeting of friends at the home of his brother, John Bullen Jr., in Hannibal, New York, to discuss the prospect of emigrating west to the new territories. A subsequent meeting was held in February 1835, in which the Bullens and others agreed to form the "Western Emigration Company" to fund a project to travel west and purchase land. William Bullen
__NOTOC__ William Bullen was a leading English cricketer throughout the last quarter of the 18th century, his known career spanning the years 1773 to 1800. He was an all-rounder who probably batted right-handed. He played mainly for Kent sides although he also appeared for England XIs and a variety of other sides. Arthur Haygarth, writing in the 1860s, describes Bullen as a "close set, strong built man" and a "crack" (i.e. expert) player, who was a "renowned batsman and bowler".Haygarth, p. 8. He was a fast bowler, in the underarm style, and a hard-hitting batsman who was a "powerful" player. He is reputed to have "frequently bowled the sixth part of a mile (about 300 yards), or the whole length of the Artillery Ground in London". Marc Bullen
Marcus Bullen (born 12 July 1982) is a former Australian rules footballer in the Australian Football League for the Essendon Football Club. Originally from Shepparton, Victoria, Bullen was selected with the 63rd pick in the 2000 AFL Draft. In the 5 seasons he played for the Bombers, he never cemented his position. During the 2003 and '04 seasons the young defender/midfielder had patches of good form, playing 16 & 17 games respectively of the 22 standard season games, including an AFL Rising Star nomination in 2003. However 2005 was a brown patch for him in his short career and he only managed 7 games for the season. Keith Edward Bullen FAA FRS (29 June 1906 – 23 September 1976) was a New Zealand-born mathematician and geophysicist. He is noted for his seismological interpretation of the deep structure of the Earth's mantle and core. He was Professor of Applied Mathematics at the University of Sydney in Australia from 1945 until 1971. first published in ''Australian Dictionary of Biography'', Volume 13, (MUP), 1993. Career Bullen went to St John's College, Cambridge in 1931, and became a research student, with Harold Jeffreys as his supervisor.
