Bulldoze (band)
Bulldoze is an American beatdown hardcore band formed in Irvington, New Jersey in 1992. Originating from thrash metal band Retribution, Bulldoze's mid-tempo, heavy metal-inspired take on hardcore punk developed the beatdown hardcore genre. They have released a single studio album, ''The Final Beatdown'' (1996), along with the ''Remember Whose Strong'' (1994) EP and ''Cleaning Shit Up!!'' (1993) demo. History Bulldoze has its origins in Irvington, New Jersey thrash metal band Retribution which featured bassist and vocalist George Puda, guitarists Zack Thorne and Mike Milewski and drummer Chris Golas. After seeing Mucky Pup and Leeway at the Cricket Club in Irvington, and befriending the members of Biohazard and Life of Agony, Retribution began changing their style towards hardcore. Irvington, New Jersey
Irvington is a township in Essex County, New Jersey, United States. Per the 2020 census, the population was 61,176. The township had the ninth-highest property tax rate in New Jersey, with an equalized rate of 4.890% in 2020, compared to 2.824% in the county as a whole and a statewide average of 2.279%. History Clinton Township, which included what is now Irvington, Maplewood and parts of Newark and South Orange, was created on April 14, 1834. The area was known as ''Camptown'' until the mid-1800s. In music, a breakdown is part of a song in which various instruments have solo parts ( breaks). This may take the form of all instruments playing the verse together, and then several or all instruments individually repeating the verse as solo parts. A breakdown is a popular musical style particularly in bluegrass, notable examples being Earl Scruggs' "Foggy Mountain Breakdown" and Bill Monroe's "Bluegrass Breakdown". Trapped Under Ice
Trapped Under Ice is an American hardcore punk band from Baltimore, Maryland that was formed in 2007. Since then they have released an EP and three full-length albums. Taking influence from New York hardcore, the band has toured all over the world and was signed to Reaper Records. On August 11, 2013, Trapped Under Ice played its last show at Philadelphia's The Electric Factory at This Is Hardcore Festival 2013. The band announced their reunion in early 2015. In 2017 they released their third LP, ''Heatwave'', on Pop Wig Records. Youth of Today is an American hardcore punk band, initially active from 1985 to 1990 before reforming in 2010. The band played a major role in establishing the " Youth Crew" subculture of hardcore, both espousing and evolving the philosophies of the straight edge and vegetarian lifestyles. After the band's dissolution, vocalist Ray Cappo became involved in the Hare Krishna movement and formed the bands Shelter and Better Than a Thousand. Carnivore (band)
Carnivore is an American heavy metal band from Brooklyn, New York City. It was founded by singer and bassist Peter Steele out of the breakup of the Brooklyn metal group Fallout in 1983. History Carnivore released their self-titled debut album ''Carnivore'' in November 1985. For this album, the band spelled their names in what they thought were "exotic" ways, Petrus T. Steele and Louie Beateaux. The band often dressed as warriors in torn clothing and spikes attached to hockey gear during their live shows at this period. Black Sabbath were an English rock band formed in Birmingham in 1968 by guitarist Tony Iommi, drummer Bill Ward, bassist Geezer Butler and vocalist Ozzy Osbourne. Judge is a New York hardcore band formed in 1987 by Youth of Today guitarist John "Porcell" Porcelly and former Youth of Today drummer Mike "Judge" Ferraro. History Their first release was a 7" EP on Porcell's label Schism (which he ran along with Side by Side/Gorilla Biscuits guitar player Alex Brown) entitled '' New York Crew''. The record featured five songs, one of which was a cover of "Warriors" by the British oi!/ punk band Blitz. Metallica
