Buldan
Buldan is a municipality and Districts of Turkey, district of Denizli Province, Turkey. Its area is 523 km2, and its population is 26,630 (2022). Buldan district area neighbors to the east and the south three other districts of the same province, namely Güney, Pamukkale, Denizli, Pamukkale and Sarayköy, and to the west by the areas of three districts of Aydın Province, Buharkent, Kuyucak and Karacasu, and to the northwest by Sarıgöl district of Manisa Province. The town of Buldan is located at a distance of from the province seat of Denizli and lies at an altitude of 690 meters. It extends along a pretty hilltop area, with hillsides covered with pomegranates, ficus, figs, vines and blackberry, blackberries. There are lovely views from the high meadows. Yenicekent
Yenicekent is a neighbourhood of the municipality and district of Buldan, Denizli Province, Turkey. Its population is 2,116 (2022). Before the 2013 reorganisation, it was a town (''belde''). The region is noted for its high plains covered with dense forests. Yenicekent is also the site of ancient Tripolis of Phrygia. History Tripolis of Phrygia was an ancient settlement near the village of Yenice in Buldan district. Ruins date back to the Hellenistic period. Tripolis, which was on the Sardis- Laodicea road extending down to Mesopotamia, was established for military and commercial purposes. Tripolis became famous with the expansion of Christianity with its people working in agriculture and weaving. The present weaving industry in Buldan can be traced back to ancient times. Tripolis (Phrygia)
Tripolis on the Meander (, ''Eth.'' , ) – also Neapolis (), Apollonia (), and Antoniopolis () – was an ancient city on the borders of Phrygia, Caria and Lydia, on the northern bank of the upper course of the Maeander, and on the road leading from Sardes by Philadelphia to Laodicea ad Lycum. Denizli Province () () is a province and metropolitan municipality of Turkey in Western Anatolia, on high ground above the Aegean coast. Neighbouring provinces are Uşak to the north, Burdur, Isparta, Afyon to the east, Aydın, Manisa to the west and Muğla to the south. Güney
Güney is a municipality and district of Denizli Province, Turkey. Its area is 362 km2, and its population is 9,448 (2022). Güney district area neighbors those of four other districts of the same province from east to west, clockwise Buldan, Pamukkale and Çal and ranges Eşme district of Uşak Province in the north. Güney district area is located at one of the sources of Büyük Menderes River. Güney town lies at a distance of north of the province seat of Denizli. It is situated on a steep hillside. Denizli
Denizli is a city in Aegean Region, Aegean Turkey, and seat of the province of Denizli Province, Denizli. The city forms the urban part of the districts Merkezefendi and Pamukkale, Denizli, Pamukkale, with a population of 691 783 in 2024. Beyazid I
Bayezid I (; ), also known as Bayezid the Thunderbolt (; ; – 8 March 1403), was the sultan of the Ottoman Empire from 1389 to 1402. He adopted the title of ''Sultan-i Rûm'', ''Rûm'' being the Arabic name for the Eastern Roman Empire. In 1394, Bayezid unsuccessfully besieged Constantinople. Hafsa Hatun
Hafsa Hatun (, "''young lioness''", died after 1403) was a Turkish princess, and a consort of Bayezid I, Sultan of the Ottoman Empire. Life Hafsa Hatun was the daughter of Isa Bey, the ruler of the Aydinids. She was married to Bayezid in 1390, upon his conquest of the Aydinids. She had no known children. Her father had surrendered without a fight, and a marriage was arranged between her and Bayezid. Thereafter, Isa was sent into exile in Iznik, shorn of his power, where he subsequently died. Her marriage strengthened the bonds between the two families. Charities Hafsa Hatun's public works are located within her father's territory and may have been built before she married Bayezid. Babadağ, Denizli
Babadağ, formerly ''Kadıköy'', is a municipality and Districts of Turkey, district of Denizli Province, Turkey. Its area is 124 km2, and its population is 6,340 (2022). It is a highland town, reached by a steep, winding road uphill from the town of Sarayköy. It was known in antiquity as Salbacos.
