Bukit Merah Bus Interchange is a bus interchange located in the Bukit Merah Town Centre in Singapore. The interchange is located along Bukit Merah Central and serves the nearby residential estates of Telok Blangah and Bukit Purmei, as well as the commercial buildings in Bukit Merah Central. It is currently the only remaining bus interchange in Singapore that does not have a direct link to an MRT station. However, several services link commuters to nearby MRT stations from the interchange. Services 5, 16 and 851 link the interchange to Tiong Bahru, Service 132 links to Redhill, while Service 176 links to Telok Blangah. Bukit Purmei
Bukit Purmei is a small housing estate within Bukit Merah planning area in Singapore, near Telok Blangah estate. Bukit Purmei consists of 15 HDB blocks, private apartments and landed property. Within the estate, there is Bukit Purmei Hillock Park, a Chinese temple, a church, a small Malay-Muslim cemetery and a Malay shrine called Keramat Bukit Kasita. The roads serving the estate are Bukit Purmei Ave, Bukit Purmei Rd and Bukit Teresa Rd. The name means "Serene Hill" in Malay. The word "Purmei" is an older spelling of the standard Malay "Permai" ("serene"). Amenities There are various shops at the void deck and bus stops in front of the blocks at the neighbourhood centre along Bukit Purmei Avenue. Redhill MRT Station
Redhill MRT station is an above-ground Mass Rapid Transit (MRT) station in Singapore on the East West line (EWL). Operated by SMRT, the station serves nearby landmarks such as the Delta Swimming Complex and Thye Hong Centre. First announced in May 1982 as Alexandra, it was renamed to Redhill in June 1983.
