Larry Willoughby
Larry Willoughby (February 24, 1950 – January 14, 2021) was an American country music singer-songwriter and the vice president of A&R at Capitol Records. Biography Willoughby's debut album, ''Building Bridges'', was released in 1984 by Atlantic America. Three singles were released from the album, including the title track, which was Willoughby's only single to reach the Top 60 of the ''Billboard'' Hot Country Singles chart. It was covered in 2006 by Brooks & Dunn, whose version peaked at No. 4. Another single from the album, "Heart on the Line (Operator, Operator)," was covered by Eddy Raven as "Operator, Operator" and reached the country Top 10 in 1985. Willoughby's songs have also been recorded by The Oak Ridge Boys, Waylon Jennings, and his cousin Rodney Crowell, who produced Willoughby's album. Willoughby had Alzheimer's disease. Vince Gill
Vincent Grant Gill (born April 12, 1957) is an American singer, songwriter, and musician. He played in a number of local bluegrass music, bluegrass bands in the 1970s, and from 1978 to 1982, he achieved his first mainstream attention after taking over as lead singer of the soft rock band Pure Prairie League. Gill sang lead on their hit single "Let Me Love You Tonight" in addition to writing several of their songs. After leaving Pure Prairie League, Gill briefly played guitar in Rodney Crowell's backing band the Cherry Bombs before beginning a solo career in country music in 1984. Gill recorded for RCA Records Nashville from then until 1988 with minimal success. A year later he signed with MCA Nashville and has recorded for them since. The Oak Ridge Boys
The Oak Ridge Boys are an American vocal quartet. The classic and most well-known lineup of the group, which performed together for over 40 years, consisted of William Lee Golden (baritone), Duane Allen (lead), Richard Sterban (bass), and Joe Bonsall (tenor). Bonsall sang with the group for the last time in mid-December of 2023. Less than two weeks later, on December 30th of that year, Ben James debuted as the Oak Ridge Boys' tenor at a show in Biloxi, completing the group in its present form. The act was founded in 1943 as the country and gospel act Wally Fowler and the Georgia Clodhoppers, but were soon known as The Oak Ridge Quartet. Steve Sanders (September 17, 1952 – June 10, 1998) was an American musician, singer, and songwriter. After playing rhythm guitar in the Oaks Band for several years, Sanders replaced William Lee Golden in the Oak Ridge Boys in 1987. Career Sanders began singing gospel music at the age of five. By the age of six, he was the sole support for his family. His father played piano, and "Little Stevie" would sing, mostly at church appearances. Although he lacked formal education — Sanders did not graduate from high school — he was a natural on stage. In addition to appearing on Broadway in ''The Yearling'' at the age of 12, he was recruited by Otto Preminger in 1967 for the film ''Hurry Sundown'' with Michael Caine and Jane Fonda.
