Buhuși
Buhuși (; ; ) is a town in Bacău County, Romania with a population of 14,152 as of 2021. It was first mentioned in the 15th century when it was named "Bodești" and was a property of an important family of Boyars named "Buhuș". The town had the biggest Textile manufacturing, textile factory in south-eastern Europe. But the factory has drastically reduced its capabilities after 1989 and currently employs less than 200 workers. The (built in 1457), located near Buhuși, is one of the famous monasteries built by Stephen III of Moldavia, Stephen the Great of Moldavia in Moldavia during the Ottoman Wars in the 15th century. Buhuși has five primary schools and one high school, the Ion Borcea Technical College. The town administers two villages, Marginea and Runcu. Elisabeta Bostan (born 1 March 1931) is a Romanian film director and screenwriter. She directed 25 films between 1956 and 1991. Moshe Sharoni (; 1929 – 20 September 2020) was an Israeli politician who served as a member of the Knesset for Gil and Justice for the Elderly between 2006 and 2009. Yisrael Friedman (Pashkaner Rebbe)
Yisrael Friedman (Hebrew: ישראל פרידמן בן-שלום; November 8, 1923 – May 1, 2017), also known as the " Pashkaner Rebbe", was a historian, Rabbi, and ''Rosh Yeshiva''. "Ben-Shalom", a man of peace, was appended to the surname in reference to his forebear Sholom Shachne of Prohobisht. Friedman was born in Buhuși, Romania, a sixth-generation descendant of Rebbe Yisrael of Rizhin. He studied Torah under both of his grandfathers, Menachem Mendel of Bohush and Moshe Yehudah Leib of Pashkan. He received a secular education locally. He was involved with Hashomer Hatzair as a youth leader. The family moved to Bucharest during the Second World War. There, he married Tzipora Hager, daughter of the Vizhnitz Rebbe Chaim Meir Hager (the ''Imrei Chaim''). The couple made Aliyah to Israel in 1946, becoming founders of Kibbutz Reshafim. Bohush (Hasidic Dynasty)
Bohush () is a Hasidic dynasty named for the town of Buhuși, Romania. The dynasty began in the mid-nineteenth century with Rabbi Yitzchok Friedman of Bohush, the eldest grandson of Rabbi Yisrael Friedman of Ruzhyn, and was based in that town until 1951, when his great-grandson, Rabbi Yitzchok Friedman of Bohush-Tel Aviv, moved the dynasty to Tel Aviv. In 1987 the Bohush '' beis medrash'' was transferred to Bnei Brak, where the dynasty is led today by Rabbi Yaakov Mendel Friedman, a great-great-grandson of the first Bohusher Rebbe.Friedman, ''The Golden Dynasty'', p. 244.
