Damian Bugg
Damian John Bugg (born 11 October 1946) is an Australian barrister who served as the Commonwealth Director of Public Prosecutions between 1999 and 2007. Prior to this appointment, he was the Tasmanian Director of Public Prosecutions from July 1986 to 1999. In 2005, he was appointed a Member of the Order of Australia (AM) for services to the law. He served as Chancellor of the University of Tasmania between 2006 and 2012. Biography Bugg was born in Tasmania and attended school and university in at the University of Tasmania, where he resided at St. John Fisher College, graduating with a Bachelor of Laws in 1969. He was called to the Bar of the Supreme Court of Tasmania in 1969 and worked for the Hobart law firm Dobson, Mitchell and Allport from 1970 to 1976 as a lawyer specialising in commercial law and litigation, and as senior litigation partner from 1977 until 1986 when he was appointed as the first Director of Public Prosecutions for Tasmania. Francis Bugg
Francis Bugg (1640–1727) was an English writer against Quakerism. Life Bugg's father was a wool-comber at Mildenhall, Suffolk, who died when his son was about fifteen, leaving him the business and some property. While still a young man he joined the Society of Friends. Around 1675, Bugg was persuaded to go to a meeting which was interrupted by soldiers, and, with other Quakers, was arrested and fined; in default of payment his goods were distrained. Rumours circulated among the Suffolk Friends that Bugg had given information of the meeting and had received money for his treason. He held the preacher, Samuel Cater, who had urged him to attend the meeting, liable for the fine; Cater referred the matter to twelve arbitrators, who found that he was not liable. In 1677, Bugg attended the yearly Quaker meeting in London, and complained to William Penn that the Friends in the country refused him justice. George Bugg
George Bugg (1769–1851) was an Anglican deacon and curate for several churches in England and a scriptural geologist who wrote a two volume book called ''Scriptural Geology''. Biography Bugg was baptized in the Anglican church in Stathern, Leicestershire. His mother died when he was only nine. In his late teens or early twenties he converted to Christianity, being convinced that "the scriptures are strictly and literally true". From 1786 he was tutored by Rev. Thomas Baxter and then entered St John's College, Cambridge in 1791, earning his B.A. degree in 1794. Bugg married Mary Ann Adams in 1804, by whom he had four daughters and one son. She died in 1815 after only eleven years of marriage. In 1816 and 1843 Bugg wrote two books on baptism and regeneration to refute the view of Mant and Pusey. Jace Bugg (November 6, 1976December 4, 2003) was an American professional golfer who played on the Nationwide Tour. Professional career He played on the Canadian Tour from 1999 to 2001 where he picked up a win in 2001 at the South Carolina Challenge. He joined the Nationwide Tour in 2002 when he was a Monday qualifier for the Arkansas Classic and went on to win the event. Robert Malone Bugg (1805–1887) was an American politician and a member of the United States House of Representatives for Tennessee's 7th congressional district. Biography Bugg was born in Boydton, Virginia in Mecklenburg County on January 20, 1805, the son of John and Sarah Malone Bugg. He attended public schools.
