Buerak (russian: Буерак, "Gully") is a post-punk band from Novosibirsk, Russia. It was founded in 2014 by Artyom Cherepanov and Alexandr Makeyev. According to Afisha magazine, Buerak is one of the main groups of the "new Russian wave". History Singer Artyom Cherepanov and guitarist Alexandr Makeyev established Buerak in Novosibirsk in 2014. In 2017, the musicians of the band accused their former tour manager Stepan Kazaryan of fraud. Ploho (Russian for "bad") is a Russian post-punk band from Novosibirsk, formed in 2013. History The group was established in Novosibirsk in 2013. In an interview with Post-Punk.com the band cited growing up in the "rather cold and dark time" of "total crime and chaos" of Russia in the 1990s as drawing the band members towards punk music from an early age. Most influential to the band in this period was the seminal Soviet 80s post punk band Kino. In 2018, the American radio station XRAY.fm listed the band's album ''Kuda ptitsy uletayut umirat'' () in their ranking of the top 25 best albums of the year. In June 2020, the band signed with Canadian record label Artoffact Records. In February 2021, the band released ''Fantomniye chuvstva'' (), their first album under the label. The album was recorded while the musicians were quarantining during the COVID-19 pandemic. Novosibirsk (, also ; rus, Новосиби́рск, p=nəvəsʲɪˈbʲirsk, a=ru-Новосибирск.ogg) is the largest city and administrative centre of Novosibirsk Oblast and Siberian Federal District in Russia. Post-punk (originally called new musick) is a broad genre of punk music that emerged in the late 1970s as musicians departed from punk's traditional elements and raw simplicity, instead adopting a variety of avant-garde sensibilities and non-rock influences. Inspired by punk's energy and DIY ethic but determined to break from rock cliches, artists experimented with styles like funk, electronic music, jazz, and dance music; the production techniques of dub and disco; and ideas from art and politics, including critical theory, modernist art, cinema and literature. Molchat Doma (russian: Молчат Дома, , Houses Are Silent, ) is a Russian-singing Belarusian post-punk band from Minsk, formed in 2017. Their current lineup consists of Egor Shkutko (vocals), Roman Komogortsev (guitar, synthesizer, drum machine), and Pavel Kozlov (bass guitar, synthesizer). Their style is influenced by 1980s Russian rock music and has been described as post-punk, new wave, synth-pop, and cold wave.
