East Budd Island is the eastern of two larger islands at the north end of the Flat Islands in Holme Bay, Mac. Robertson Land, Antarctica. It was mapped by Norwegian cartographers from air photos taken by the Lars Christensen Expedition, 1936–37, who named the northern islands "Flatoynalane" (the flat island needles). Budd–Chiari Syndrome
Budd–Chiari syndrome is a very rare condition, affecting one in a million adults. The condition is caused by occlusion of the hepatic veins that drain the liver. It presents with the classical triad of abdominal pain, ascites, and liver enlargement. The formation of a blood clot within the hepatic veins can lead to Budd–Chiari syndrome. The syndrome can be fulminant, acute, chronic, or asymptomatic. Subacute presentation is the most common form. Signs and symptoms The acute syndrome presents with rapidly progressive severe upper abdominal pain, yellow discoloration of the skin and whites of the eyes, liver enlargement, enlargement of the spleen, fluid accumulation within the peritoneal cavity, elevated liver enzymes, and eventually encephalopathy. Budd is a high-end tailor for shirts based in London's Piccadilly Arcade. Budd was founded in 1910, and is known to cater to many notable figures of British high society. History Budd was founded in 1910 by Harold Budd as an exclusively bespoke shirtmaker. Its original premises were located in Piccadilly Arcade, adjacent to Jermyn Street. After bombing during the Blitz, Budd bought premises opposite the original store, which were the only premises in the Arcade still standing. It is now the only original member of the Arcade still operating. In 1983, Budd was acquired by the Webster Brothers, another British shirtmaker founded in 1847. In 2013, Budd was acquired by a group led by Stephen Murphy, former owner of Saville Row tailor H. Huntsman & Sons and board member of the Brown Thomas Group. Budd Rail Diesel Car
The Budd Rail Diesel Car, RDC, Budd car or Buddliner is a self-propelled diesel multiple unit (DMU) railcar. Between 1949 and 1962, 398 RDCs were built by the Budd Company of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, United States. The cars were primarily adopted for passenger service in rural areas with low traffic density or in short-haul commuter service, and were less expensive to operate in this context than a traditional diesel locomotive-drawn train with coaches. The cars could be used singly or coupled together in train sets and controlled from the cab of the front unit. The RDC was one of the few DMU trains to achieve commercial success in North America. RDC trains were an early example of self-contained diesel multiple unit trains, an arrangement now in common use by railways all over the world. ''Budd'' is the first release by the Chicago noise rock band Rapeman. The first three songs on the EP were recorded live. The title is a reference to Budd Dwyer, a politician who committed suicide during a televised press conference. The lyrics of the title track contain references to phrases used during the incident. It has been re-released as bonus tracks at the end of '' Two Nuns and a Pack Mule'', the band's only LP. Studio versions of the first three tracks were originally planned to be used, but the band later decided in favour of live versions. The demo tracks are currently available in trading circles. Budd Company
The Budd Company was a 20th-century metal fabricator, a major supplier of body components to the automobile industry, and a manufacturer of stainless steel passenger rail cars, airframes, missile and space vehicles, and various defense products. Budd was founded in 1912 in Philadelphia by Edward G. Budd, whose fame came from his development of the first all-steel automobile bodies in 1913, and his company's invention of the "shotweld" technique for joining pieces of stainless steel without damaging its anti-corrosion properties in the 1930s. Budd Company became part of Budd Thyssen in 1978, and in 1999 a part of ThyssenKrupp Budd. Body and chassis operations were sold to Martinrea International in 2006. Budd (band)
Budd are an Australian rock band from Brisbane. They were originally signed to Fellaheen Records in the 1990s. Career Budd formed in 1991 in Brisbane, Australia. Although their lineup changed through the years, founding member and guitarist Jeremy Finlayson has remained in the group throughout. In 1992, they were announced as being signed to Waterfront Records. Instead, they released their first single "Helpmeswell" as the first release on Fellaheen, another label run by Waterfront founder Steven Stavrakis. Four of their EPs released by Fellaheen Records entered the ARIA Alternative Top 20 charts, but when their label closed down Budd became more of a "cult" underground band, with their releases becoming "obscure collectors' items". When Budd released their "Ovit" EP in 1996 they were likened to American metal band Helmet, a comparison the band rejected. Division No. 21, also informally known as Flin Flon-Northwest, is a census division within the Province of Manitoba, Canada.
