Budapest Live
''Budapest Live'' is an album released in 1984 by Manfred Mann's Earth Band. The album was recorded on the "Somewhere in Europe" tour in 1983 in support of the "Somewhere in Afrika" album, and despite its title, also featured recordings from the Dominion Theatre in London. It was the final Earth Band album to appear on the Bronze Records, Bronze label and also the last album recorded with Steve Waller and Matt Irving. The album has long since been criticized by fans for being radically edited down from the actual gig length, thereby losing a lot of live staples ("Martha's Madman", "You Angel You") and many songs now having instrumental passages shortened or completely removed ("Davy's on the Road Again", "Mighty Quinn" and "Demolition Man", the latter being around ten minutes in concert). Manfred Mann's Earth Band are an English rock band formed by South African musician Manfred Mann (musician), Manfred Mann. Spirits In The Night
"Spirit in the Night" is a song written and originally recorded by American singer-songwriter Bruce Springsteen for his debut album '' Greetings from Asbury Park, N.J.'' (1973). It was also the second single released from the album. A cover version performed by Manfred Mann's Earth Band using the title "Spirits in the Night" was released on the album '' Nightingales and Bombers'' and as a Top 40 single. Original version The original version of "Spirit in the Night" was released on Bruce Springsteen's debut album, '' Greetings from Asbury Park, N.J.'' It was one of the last songs to be written and recorded. Mike Heron
James Michael Heron (born 27 December 1942) is a Scottish singer, songwriter and multi-instrumentalist, best known for his work in the Incredible String Band in the 1960s and 1970s. Career Heron was born in Edinburgh, Scotland, and attended the Royal High School, Edinburgh and later George Heriot's School, where his father was a teacher. He spent a year at the University of Edinburgh before leaving to start training as an accountant. "Quinn the Eskimo (The Mighty Quinn)" is a folk-rock song written and first recorded by Bob Dylan in 1967 during '' The Basement Tapes'' sessions. The song's first release was in January 1968 as "Mighty Quinn" in a version by the British band Manfred Mann, which became a great success. It has been recorded by a number of performers, often under the "Mighty Quinn" title. Robbie Robertson
Jaime Royal Robertson (July 5, 1943 – August 9, 2023) was a Canadian musician of Indigenous and Jewish ancestry. He was the lead guitarist for Bob Dylan's backing band in the mid-late 1960s and early-mid 1970s. Robertson was also the guitarist and primary songwriter of The Band from its inception until 1978, after which time he enjoyed a lengthy solo career. Robertson's work with the Band was instrumental in creating the Americana (music), Americana music genre.
