Buckenhof
Buckenhof is a municipality in the district of Erlangen-Höchstadt, in Bavaria, Germany. History The village called Buckenhof developed between the 11th and 12th century. The first public record is from 1372. Between the years 1564 and 1567, the barons von Haller build the ''Puckenhof Castle''. Since 1850, it houses a youth center of the Inner Mission. Between 1886 and 1963, Buckenhof was located along the branch line from Erlangen to Uttenreuth. Erlangen
Erlangen (; East Franconian: ''Erlang'', Bavarian: ''Erlanga'') is a Middle Franconian city in Bavaria, Germany. It is the seat of the administrative district Erlangen-Höchstadt (former administrative district Erlangen), and with 116,062 inhabitants (as of 30 March 2022), it is the smallest of the eight major cities (''Großstadt'') in Bavaria. The number of inhabitants exceeded the threshold of 100,000 in 1974, making Erlangen a major city according to the statistical definition officially used in Germany. Erlangen-Höchstadt
Erlangen-Höchstadt is a ''Landkreis'' (district) in Bavaria, Germany. It is bounded by (from the south and clockwise) the districts of Fürth, Neustadt (Aisch)-Bad Windsheim, Bamberg, Forchheim and Nürnberger Land, and by the cities of Nuremberg and Erlangen. Uttenreuth is a town in the district of Erlangen-Höchstadt in Bavaria in Germany. History Uttenreuth was founded in the 12th century during the expansion of the empire around Nuremberg to the Schwabach valley east of Erlangen. After 1946, Uttenreuth developed into a suburban residential area in the lower Schwabach valley. A territorial reform in 1978 led to the integration of the neighboring village Weiher. Inner Mission (Germany)
The Inner Mission (german: Innere Mission, also translated as Home Mission) was and is a movement of German evangelists, set up by Johann Hinrich Wichern in Wittenberg in 1848 based on a model of Theodor Fliedner. It quickly spread from Germany to other countries. Like other missions, the Inner Mission sought a "rebirth" of Christianity, by means of the doctrine of "brotherly love" and a social programme of charity (social service) and Christian education. An inner mission or rescue mission is a project set up by Christian groups to aid the poor and sick in the home country of the group.
