Bucharest Symphonic Orchestra
The Bucharest Symphony Orchestra is a Romanian orchestra based in Bucharest, founded in 2006 by the Philson Young Association. In 2022, John Axelrod was appointed Principal Conductor of the Bucharest Symphony Orchestra. Previously, Jin Wang (2017–2019) and Benoît Fromanger occupied the leading musical position (2011–2017). Between 2006 and 2012, Bucharest Symphony Orchestra performed in concert halls such as the Romanian Athenaeum, National Theatre Bucharest, Romanian National Opera and Sala Palatului. Romanian Athenaeum
The Romanian Athenaeum () is a concert hall in the center of Bucharest, Romania, and a landmark of the Romanian capital city. Opened in 1888, the ornate, domed, circular building is the city's most prestigious concert hall and home of the "George Enescu" Philharmonic and of the George Enescu Festival. History In 1865, cultural and scientific personalities such as Constantin Esarcu, V. A. Urechia, and Nicolae Crețulescu founded the Romanian Athenaeum Cultural Society. The National Theatre Bucharest () is one of the national theatres of Romania, located in the capital city of Bucharest. Romanian National Opera, Bucharest
The Romanian National Opera, Bucharest () is the oldest of the four national opera and ballet companies of Romania. The company was founded in 1885 and is headquartered in Bucharest, near the Cotroceni neighbourhood. History In 1877, Romanian government regulation stipulated the formation of an opera company under the auspices of the Romanian National Theatre. Sala Palatului
''Sala Palatului'' (Palace Hall) in Bucharest, Romania is a conference centre and concert hall immediately behind the National Museum of Art of Romania, the former royal palace in the heart of the city. It was built between 1959 and 1960, during the communist era, as part of an architectural ensemble that includes 9 other buildings, called ''Piața Sălii Palatului'' (the ''Palace Hall Square''). Over time, it has hosted various conferences such as the United Nations Economic Commission for Europe, World Population Conference, World Energy Congress, or the World Congress of the Red Cross. Marcel Pavel
Marcel Pavel (; born 4 December 1959 in Galați County) is a folk music singer in Romania. His singing talents brought him to the top of the Romanian charts more than once. In 2002, Marcel was elected as ''The best male voice''. His first hit was "Frumoasa mea" by Ovidiu Komornyc. His latest album is ''Te vreau langa mine''. His song "Unde esti?", was chosen as the best song in 2001. In 2002, he won for the Eurovision Song Contest 2002, Eurovision Song Contest together with Monica Anghel. Their song "Tell Me Why (Monica Anghel and Marcel Pavel song), Tell Me Why" reached ninth place, the best score ever for Romania at that time.
