Buangor
Buangor is a town in western Victoria. It is about west of the state capital, Melbourne. At the 2021 census, Buangor had a population of 112. Buangor Post Office opened on 25 March 1863. The town has a primary school, which was built in 1878, and had an enrolment of 19 students in 2011. Buangor railway station, on the Ararat railway line, was closed in 1981. The area was known as the Parish of Woodnaccerak (also spelled Woodnaggerak) in the County of Ripon and was established in the 1830s, and is remembered by a north–south road named Woodnaggerak in the district. Buangor Railway Station
Buangor is a closed station in the town of Buangor, on the Ararat railway line in Victoria, Australia. It was opened on 7 April 1875 when the line was extended from Beaufort to Ararat. The station was one of 35 Victorian country stations closed to passenger traffic on 4 October 1981, as part of the ''New Deal The New Deal was a series of wide-reaching economic, social, and political reforms enacted by President Franklin D. Brudenell White
General Sir Cyril Brudenell Bingham White, (23 September 1876 – 13 August 1940), more commonly known as Sir Brudenell White or C. B. B. White, was a senior officer in the Australian Army who served as Chief of the General Staff from 1920 to 1923 and again from March to August 1940, when he was killed in the Canberra air disaster. Early life and career White was born in St Arnaud, Victoria, on 23 September 1876. He joined the colonial militia force in Queensland in 1896, and served in the Second Boer War with the Australian Commonwealth Horse. In 1901 he became a founding member of the new Australian Army, and in 1906 was the first Australian officer to attend the British staff college. Ararat V/Line Rail Service
The Ballarat line is a regional passenger rail service operated by V/Line in Victoria, Australia. It serves 13 stations towards its terminus in Ballarat's western suburb of Wendouree via Melton and Bacchus Marsh. Services are operated primarily using V/Line VLocity diesel multiple unit sets in either 3- or 6-car configurations. It is the second most-used regional rail service in Victoria (behind the Geelong line), carrying 4.68 million passengers in the 2022-23 financial year.
