Brynjolv Baardson
Brynjolv Baardson (December 25, 1921 – July 19, 2002) was a Norwegian sailor and businessperson, and a US Army officer. During World War II, Baardson was a sailor in the Norwegian merchant marine, serving aboard the MS ''Ravnaas'' when she was sunk by Japanese aircraft off Samar Island in December 1941. In January 1942 he volunteered to the United States Army and fought with in the jungles of Cebu Island, was imprisoned in Japanese prisoner-of-war camps in the Philippines and Japan along with American soldiers, and returned to the US in 1945, where he was given the rank of captain. He published the memoir book ''Kiotskee!'' in 1981, with accounts of his experiences in the jungle of Cebu and later in Japanese internment camps. Kristiansand is a seaside resort city and Municipalities of Norway, municipality in Agder county, Norway. Bentein Baardson
Bentein Baardson (born 6 November 1953 in New York City) is Norwegian actor, instructor and theatre director. He was born in New York, and is the son of Brynjolv Baardson. Bentein Baardson graduated from Teaterhøyskolen in 1975. He has set up plays at a number of theatres, including Nationaltheatret, Det Norske Teatret, Den Nationale Scene and Agder Teater. He was theatre director at Rogaland Teater from 1986 to 1989, leading Agder Teater from its opening in 1991 to 1994, was art director for the opening and closing ceremonies at the 1994 Winter Olympics in Lillehammer, and theatre director at Den Nationale Scene from 1998 to 2001. In 2005 he directed the gala concert at Oslo Konserthus in connection with the 1905 jubilee. Baardson was the artistic and executive director of the 2006 Ibsen Year. Guri Hjeltnes
Guri Hjeltnes (born 23 October 1953) is a Norwegian journalist and historian. Having mainly researched Norwegian World War II history during her career, she is a professor of journalism at the BI Norwegian Business School since 2004. She has also spent considerable time as a journalist and commentator, currently in ''Verdens Gang''. She became director of the Center for Studies of the Holocaust and Religious Minorities in 2012. Career Guri Hjeltnes was born in Stavanger. She worked as a journalist in ''Arbeiderbladet'' from 1979 to 1985, and has also worked for other newspapers on a freelance basis.
