Bryan Rush
Bryan Joseph Rush (2 April 1893 – 11 August 1982) was an Australian rules footballer who played with Collingwood Football Club, Collingwood in the Australian Football League, Victorian Football League (VFL). Family The son of Roger Robert Rush (1856–1941), and Mary Rush (1856–1943), née Berry, Bryan Joseph Rush was born at Port Fairy, Port Fairy, Victoria on 2 April 1893. Wife He married Lorna McKay in 1927. Port Fairy
Port Fairy (historically known as Belfast) is a coastal town in south-western Victoria, Australia. It lies on the Princes Highway in the Shire of Moyne, west of Warrnambool and west of Melbourne, at the point where the Moyne River enters the Southern Ocean. History Prior to British colonisation in the 19th century, the Port Fairy area, then known as Pyipkil or Ummut, was inhabited by the Pyipkil gunditj clan, also known as the Yarrer gunditj. They spoke the Peek Whurrong language. The region's ecology consisted of dense Banksia-dominated bushland and large swamps. The Pyipkil gunditj constructed stone and timber fishing-weirs called ''yereroc'' across creeks to catch fish and eels. They also cut canals called ''vam'' to drain swamps and made woven eel-pots called ''arabine'' to trap eels. The Eastern Maar people are now considered the traditional owners of the Port Fairy area. The Royal Australian Army Pay Corps (RAAPC) is a Corps of the Australian Army. Its role is to provide financial advice and assistance to the Australian Army. History The Australian Army Pay Corps (AAPC) was originally formed on 21 September 1914 with MAJ Albert G. Farr being appointed as the Commanding Officer of the 1st Australian Army Pay Details Unit. It consisted of three officers and 22 Other Ranks who deployed to the Middle East on 21 October 1914. The first Chief Paymaster was LTCOL Thomas W. Jolliffe, CMG. The AAPC served in all theatres of World War I as well as staffing the Paymaster’s Branch in London. Authority to raise Home Forces Citizen Pay Units was provided in 1916, which is currently celebrated as the origin of the Corps. Victorian Amateur Football Association
The Victorian Amateur Football Association (VAFA) is the largest senior community Australian rules football competition in Victoria. It consists of seven senior men's and women's divisions ranging from Premier to Division 4. In addition there are U19's sections and five Thirds sections, primarily made up of either clubs only able to field one team, or clubs from higher sections that can field a third team after their seniors and reserves. The league operates a double promotion and relegation system between sections with various rules dictating which section clubs can play in. The league's administration base is at Elsternwick Park, a former Victorian Football Association stadium in suburban Elsternwick, Victoria, that was home to the now defunct Brighton Football Club and is now the home base for Old Melburnians Football Club and Elsternwick Football Club.
