Brunswick Football Club (1963)
The Brunswick Football Club is an Australian rules football club based in the Melbourne suburb of Brunswick. It was formed in 1963 as North Melbourne CBC, later renamed as North Old Boys, NOBs/St Pat's and Brunswick NOBSPC before its current name was adopted in 2017. The club's men's team currently competes in Division 2 of the Victorian Amateur Football Association (VAFA), while the women's team is in Division 1 of the VAFA Women's (VAFAW) competition. Brunswick also fields junior teams in the Yarra Junior Football League (YJFL). History Origins In 1932, North Melbourne CBC Football Club was formed for students of North Melbourne Christian Brothers College. It entered the VAFA's D Section the same year, but was expelled in 1939 after fielding an unregistered player, and the club disbanded. Victorian Amateur Football Association
The Victorian Amateur Football Association (VAFA) is the largest senior community Australian rules football competition in Victoria, Australia, Victoria. Founded in 1892, it consists of six senior divisions, ranging from Premier to Division 3 in the men's competition and Premier to Division 4 in the women's competition. In addition, the VAFA has under-19s and Thirds sections, primarily made up of either clubs only able to field one team, or clubs from higher sections that can field a third team after their seniors and reserves. The league operates a double promotion and relegation system between sections, with various rules dictating which section clubs can play in. The 2015 VAFA season was the 115th season of the Victorian Amateur Football Association (VAFA), the largest senior community Australian rules football competition in Victoria (state), Victoria. The season began on 11 April and concluded on 20 September, with 70 teams participating across seven divisions under a promotion and relegation system. Association membership The Parkside Football Club returned to the VAFA after 12 years in the Northern Football Netball League, Northern Football League (NFL). Parkside had previously competed in the VAFA between 1938 VAFA season, 1938 and 2002 VAFA season, 2002, winning twelve senior premierships during that time. The 2017 VAFA Women's season was the inaugural season of the VAFA Women's (VAFAW) competition. 40 teams competed across five divisions, and unlike the Victorian Amateur Football Association, VAFA men's competition, there was no promotion and relegation system. The Victorian Women's Football League (VWFL) was the oldest and largest Australian rules football league for women in the world, consisting of 47 clubs from Victoria (Australia), Victoria, Australia across seven divisions with a total of over 1,000 players. St Patrick's College, sometimes referred to as St Pat's, Paddy's or SPC, is an independent Catholic secondary day and boarding school for boys, located in central Ballarat, Victoria, Australia.
