Bruce Waddell
Bruce Waddell (born November 28, 2001) is a Canadian ice dancer and singles skater. With his skating partner, Natalie D'Alessandro, he is the 2022 World Junior silver medallist and 2022 Canadian national junior champion. They have won three medals on the ISU Junior Grand Prix series, including gold at the 2021 JGP Slovakia, and bronze in the 2020 Winter Youth Olympics team event. Personal life Waddell was born on November 28, 2001, in Toronto, Canada. He has two older brothers, twins George and Charles. Charles is a former ice dancer, and George currently competes in ice dance, representing Great Britain. He enjoys playing the piano and skateboarding. He is the grandson of NHL hockey star Leonard "Red" Kelly and his uncle Patrick Kelly is an Olympic speed skater. Waddell has dual Canadian-British citizenship. 2021–22 ISU Junior Grand Prix
The 2021–22 ISU Junior Grand Prix was the 24th season of a series of junior international competitions organized by the International Skating Union. It was the junior-level complement to the 2021–22 ISU Grand Prix of Figure Skating. Skaters competed for medals in the disciplines of men's singles, women's singles, pairs, and ice dance, as well as for qualifying points. The top six from each discipline qualified for the 2021–22 Junior Grand Prix Final, to be held together with the senior final and later cancelled due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The 2018 Canadian Tire National Skating Championships took place January 8–14, 2018, in Vancouver, British Columbia. Organized by Skate Canada and sponsored by Canadian Tire, the event determined the national champions of Canada. Medals were awarded in the disciplines of men's singles, women's singles, pair skating, and ice dance on the senior, junior, and novice levels. Although the official International Skating Union terminology for female skaters in the singles category is ''ladies'', Skate Canada uses ''women'' officially. Speed skating is a competitive form of ice skating in which the competitors race each other in travelling a certain distance on skates. Types of speed skating are long track speed skating, short track speed skating, and marathon speed skating. In the Olympic Games, long-track speed skating is usually referred to as just "speed skating", while short-track speed skating is known as "short track".
