Bruce J. Katz
Bruce J. Katz (born June 21, 1959) is an American lawyer, urban policy expert and author. He is currently the Director of the Nowak Metro Finance Lab at Drexel University, having formerly served as the inaugural Centennial Scholar and Vice President at the Brookings Institution. Education Katz graduated ''magna cum laude'' with a B.A. from Brown University in 1981. At Brown, Katz received a Harvey A. Baker Fellowship and attended the London School of Economics from 1979 to 1980. He earned his J.D. from Yale Law School in 1985. Career Katz advises federal, state, and local leaders on shifting demographic and market trends as well as on policies that are critical to metropolitan prosperity (e.g., innovation, human capital, infrastructure, housing) and new forms of metropolitan governance. The Heinz Awards are individual achievement honors given annually by the Heinz Foundations, Heinz Family Foundation. The Heinz Awards each year recognize outstanding individuals for their innovative contributions in three areas: the Arts, the Economy and the Environment. The award was established in 1993 by Teresa Heinz, the chairwoman of the Heinz Foundations, Heinz Family Foundation, in honor of her late husband, U.S. Senator H. John Heinz III. Henry Gabriel Cisneros (born June 11, 1947) is an American politician and businessman. He served as the mayor of San Antonio, Texas, from 1981 to 1989, the second Latino mayor of a major American city and the city's first since 1842 (when Juan Seguín was forced out of office).
