Bruce Hershenson is an American entrepreneur who in 1999 founded the movie memorabilia auction company eMoviePoster. He is a collector of movie pressbooks and has edited 43 movie poster history books. Movie collectibles career Hershenson began his career in movie posters in 1990, when auction house Christie's offered to sell some of his collection. He conducted an annual movie poster auction at Christie's for the following eight years, grossing between $1.5 million and $2 million each year. By 1998, Hershenson's customers and friends were increasingly suggesting he try selling his merchandise using online auction company eBay. Hershenson was skeptical of the company's value in selling rare collectibles. eBay became a public corporation in September 1998, and in 1999, Hershenson decided to begin posting some of his items on the auction company's website. Razz (poker)
Razz is a form of stud poker that is normally played for ace-to-five low (lowball poker). It is one of the oldest forms of poker, and has been played since the start of the 20th century. It emerged around the time people started using the 52-card deck instead of 20 for poker. The object of Razz is to make the lowest possible five-card hand from the seven cards you are dealt. In Razz, straights and flushes do not count against the player for low, and the ace always plays low. Thus, the best possible Razz hand is 5-4-3-2-A, or 5 high, also known as "the wheel" or "the bicycle". Deuce-to-seven Razz is also sometimes played (the best possible hand is 2-3-4-5-7). The Super Bowl of Poker (also known as Amarillo Slim's Super Bowl of Poker or SBOP) was the second most prestigious poker tournament in the world during the 1980s. While the World Series of Poker was already drawing larger crowds as more and more amateurs sought it out, the SBOP "was an affair limited almost exclusively to pros and hard-core amateurs."
