Brown Morning
''Brown Morning'' is a French fable, written by Franck Pavloff in 1998, published by editions Cheyne, a publishing house usually specialized in poetry. The title of the fable refers to the "Brown Shirts" nickname given to Nazi SA militia. The author wrote this short story in a "fit of anger" after the revelation of candidates alliances with the National Front in the second round of a set of local elections. ''Brown Morning'' is a universal story that takes a stand against the pensée unique and what Pavloff called "small compromissions". This book aims for a universal appeal by leaving out any details on when or where it takes place. The book became an overnight success in 2002 (more than a million copies sold) after the surprise result of the first round of that year's presidential election in which the far-right candidate Jean-Marie Le Pen qualified unexpectedly for the second round. Franck Pavloff
Franck Pavloff (born 24 April 1940) is a French psychologist, novelist, and poet. Franck Pavloff currently lives in Isère, in eastern France, between trips. His Bulgarian father raised him in a way to develop a critical mind and a need for freedom, bequeathing him "the imperious taste of barbed wire and shoving confiscated thoughts" (blurb for the short story ''Brown'' ''Morning''). Fable
Fable is a literary genre defined as a succinct fictional story, in prose or verse, that features animals, legendary creatures, plants, inanimate objects, or forces of nature that are anthropomorphized, and that illustrates or leads to a particular moral lesson (a "moral"), which may at the end be added explicitly as a concise maxim or saying. A fable differs from a parable in that the latter ''excludes'' animals, plants, inanimate objects, and forces of nature as actors that assume speech or other powers of humankind. The (; SA; or 'Storm Troopers') was the original paramilitary organisation under Adolf Hitler and the Nazi Party of Germany. "''Pensée unique''" (； French for "single thought") is a pejorative expression for mainstream ideological conformism of any kind, almost always opposed to that of the speaker. Originally, it is a French expression and referred to claims that neoliberalism is the only correct way to structure society. The phrase implies that mainstream discussion is limited by ideological assumptions of what is possible. One example of ''pensée unique'' given by critics was TINA ("There is no alternative"), the motto of former British prime minister Margaret Thatcher.
