STS ''Young Endeavour'' is an Australian tall ship. Built by Brooke Marine (which became Brooke Yachts during the vessel's construction), ''Young Endeavour'' was given to Australia by the British government in 1988, as a gift to celebrate Australian Bicentenary. Although operated and maintained by the Royal Australian Navy, ''Young Endeavour'' delivers up to twenty youth development sail training voyages to young Australians aged 16 – 23 each year. Navy personnel staff the ship and the Young Endeavour Youth Scheme coordinate the voyage program. The Port of Lowestoft is a harbour in Lowestoft in the English county of Suffolk owned by Associated British Ports. It is the most easterly harbour in the United Kingdom and has direct sea access to the North Sea. The harbour is made up of two sections divided by a bascule bridge. Mincarlo (Trawler)
''Mincarlo'' is the last surviving sidewinder fishing trawler of the Lowestoft fishing fleet. She is also the last surviving fishing vessel built in Lowestoft, with an engine made in the town. Construction The ''Mincarlo'' was built in the Brooke Marine yards in the Suffolk town of Lowestoft. in 1961. She was one of three sister ships built for W.H. Podd Ltd. The other two ships were called ''Bryher'' and ''Rosevear'', and along with ''Mincarlo'' were named by the Podd family after small islands which make up part of the Isles of Scilly of the Cornish coast. Each of the vessels cost £75,600. Sidewinder trawling method The ''Mincarlo'' was the type of trawler known as a sidewinder or side trawler. ''BNS Bishkhali'' (formerly known as ''PNS Jessore'') was a large patrol craft (LPC) of Bangladesh Navy. The ship joined the Bangladesh Navy fleet after Bangladesh Liberation War. History During the liberation war of 1971, the naval commandos of Bangladesh sunk the Pakistan Navy Ship 'PNS Jessore'. After the war, the ship was salvaged and extensively repaired at Khulna Shipyard. Then it was commissioned in Bangladesh Navy as BNS Bishkhali on 23 November 1978. Career During the service period, the ship served at Khulna under ''Commodore Commanding BN Khulna (COMKHUL)''.
