Brogan or O'Brogan, is a surname originating in Ireland, anglicized from the original Ó Brógáin. The form McBrogan, is also present sharing the meaning of O'Brogan, essentially "son of Brogan." Bernard Brogan (born 3 April 1984) is a Gaelic footballer from the St Oliver Plunketts/Eoghan Ruadh GAA, St Oliver Plunketts/Eoghan Ruadh club who previously played for the Dublin county football team, Dublin county team. He is originally from the Battery Heights. Stephen Patrick Brogan (born 12 April 1988) is an English semi-professional footballer who plays for Stalybridge Celtic. He has previously played in the Football League for Rotherham United. James Brogan was a Scottish footballer who played for the majority of his career at Bolton Wanderers. He played mostly as an inside-left or outside-left. Having started his career in the amateur game with his local club Beith, he signed for Hibernian in 1883. He scored six goals on his senior debut for the club, in a 10–1 Scottish Cup win against Edina. He was then signed by Hibernian's Edinburgh derby rivals Hearts. Jim Brogan (Scottish Footballer)
James Andrew Brogan (5 June 1944 – 24 September 2018) was a Scottish footballer who played in over 200 league games for Jock Stein's highly successful Celtic sides of the late 1960s and early 1970s. He joined Celtic from local side St Roch's. Brogan played in the 1970 European Cup Final and won four caps for Scotland. He won Scottish League Championships in seven consecutive seasons from 1967–68 to 1973–74, four Scottish Cups in 1968–69, 1970–71, 1971–72 and 1973–74, and three Scottish League Cups in 1968–69, 1969–70 and 1974–75. Bernard Brogan is a former Gaelic footballer who played for the St Oliver Plunketts/Eoghan Ruadh club and for the Dublin county team. He won three All-Ireland senior football medals in the 1970s. Playing career Brogan, who mostly played midfield, received an All Star for his performances in 1979.
