Josef Müller-Brockmann (9 May 1914 – 30 August 1996) was a Swiss graphic designer, author, and educator, he was a Principal at Muller-Brockmann & Co. design firm. He was a pioneer of the International Typographic Style. One of the main masters of Swiss design. Müller-Brockmann is recognized for his simple designs and his clean use of typography, shapes and colors which inspire many graphic designers in the 21st century. Early life and education Josef Müller was born May 9, 1914, in Rapperswil, Switzerland. He studied architecture, design and art history at both the University of Zurich at Gewerbeschule, and Zurich University of the Arts (also known as Kunstgewerbeschule Zürich), where he studied with Ernst Keller and Alfred Willimann. Gottfried Brockmann
Gottfried Waldemar Brockmann (1903 – 1983) was a German artist, educator, publisher, and served as a cultural advisor for the city of Kiel, Germany. He taught at Muthesius Academy of Art in Kiel. Early life and education Gottfried Brockmann was born on 19 November 1903 in the Lindenthal district in Cologne, Germany. He was the son of painter Hans Waldemar Brockmann. He did a two-year apprenticeship in architecture, followed by a two-year apprenticeship in decorative painting which he completed in 1922. Between 1922 and 1925, he was active within the Cologne Progressives movement. Brockmann attended Düsseldorf Art Academy (German: Kunstakademie Düsseldorf) from 1926 to 1932, studying under Heinrich Campendonk. Dirk Brockmann (born September 2, 1969) is a German physicist and Professor in Biology of Complex Systems and the founding director of the Center Synergy of Systems at Technische Universität Dresden. Brockmann is known for his work in complex systems, complex networks, computational epidemiology, human mobility and anomalous diffusion. Miguel d'Escoto Brockmann (February 5, 1933 – June 8, 2017) was an American-born Nicaraguan diplomat, politician and Catholic priest of the Maryknoll Missionary Society. As the President of the United Nations General Assembly from September 2008 to September 2009, he presided over the 63rd Session of the United Nations General Assembly. Francisca María Brockmann y Llanos (1867–1946) was a Spanish historical painter. Brockmann was born in Madrid as the granddaughter of Fanny Keats (the sister of the John Keats, poet), whose portrait she painted. Her uncle Juan Llanos y Keats gave her painting lessons and she also studied with the history painter José Benlliure y Gil, where she was influenced by Joaquin Sorolla. Hermanus Gerardus "Herman" Brockmann (14 June 1871 in Amsterdam – 18 January 1936 in The Hague) was a Dutch coxswain who competed in the 1900 Summer Olympics.
