Brit Awards 1991 was the 11th edition of the Brit Awards, an annual pop music awards ceremony in the United Kingdom. Dominion Theatre
The Dominion Theatre is a West End theatre and former cinema on Tottenham Court Road, close to St Giles Circus and Centre Point, in the London Borough of Camden. Planned as primarily a musical theatre, it opened in 1929, but the following year became a cinema—it hosted the London premiere of Charlie Chaplin's '' City Lights'' with Chaplin in attendance—and in 1933 after liquidation of the controlling company was sold to Gaumont cinema chain, which later became part of the Rank Organisation. It was a major premiere cinema until the 1970s, when it began to host live concerts. In January 1981 it once more became primarily a live performance venue, and has since hosted many musicals, notably ''We Will Rock You'' which ran from 2002 to 2014. EMF (band)
EMF are an English alternative rock band from Cinderford, Gloucestershire, who came to prominence at the beginning of the 1990s. During their initial eight-year run, from 1989 to 1997, the band released three studio albums before a hiatus. Their first single, "Unbelievable (EMF song), Unbelievable", reached number 3 on the UK Singles Chart, and was a number 1 hit on the US Billboard Hot 100, ''Billboard'' Hot 100 chart. Their debut album, ''Schubert Dip'', went to number 3 on the UK Albums Chart. In April 2022, EMF released their first album of new material in 27 years, ''Go Go Sapiens''. Never Enough (The Cure Song)
"Never Enough" is a song by English rock band the Cure, released as a single in September 1990 from their 1990 remix album, '' Mixed Up''. The song topped the US ''Billboard'' Modern Rock Tracks chart, reached number three in Finland, and peaked within the top 20 in Germany, Ireland, New Zealand, Spain, and the United Kingdom. Content Unlike most other Cure songs of this era, the song was unexpectedly guitar-oriented, featuring no synthesizers. On the album, it is subtitled "Big Mix". Although Perry Bamonte is on the single cover and appears in the music video, he does not have a songwriting credit (as do the other four members). While containing no synthesisers, the song was nonetheless influenced by baggy music. It was written by Adamski and British singer-songwriter Seal (musician), Seal, who also provided vocals, although the original release is credited solely to Adamski. It was released in March 1990 by MCA Records as the first single from Adamski's second album, ''Doctor Adamski's Musical Pharmacy'' (1990), and reached number one on the UK Singles Chart. The single spent four weeks at the top in May and June 1990 and sold over 400,000 copies in the UK, earning it Music recording certification, gold certification. Seal Henry Olusegun Olumide Adeola Samuel (born 19 February 1963) is an English singer, songwriter, and record producer. He is the recipient of three Brit Awards, four Grammy Awards and an MTV Video Music Award, with 20 million albums or singles sold by October 2011. Adamski
Adam Paul Tinley (born 4 December 1967), known professionally as Adamski, as well as Sonny Eriksson, is an English DJ, musician, singer and record producer, prominent at the time of acid house for his tracks "N-R-G (Adamski song), N-R-G" and "Killer (Adamski song), Killer", a collaboration with Seal (musician), Seal, which was a No. 1 song in the UK in 1990. Career Tinley was born in Lymington, Hampshire, England. As a youngster, influenced by punk rock and John Peel, he formed his first band The Stupid Babies when he was 11 and living in New Forest in England. Jonathan King
Jonathan King (born Kenneth George King; 6 December 1944) is an English singer, songwriter and record producer. He first came to prominence in 1965 when "Everyone's Gone to the Moon", a song that he wrote and sang while still an undergraduate, achieved chart success. King's career in the music industry was effectively ended in 2001, when he was convicted of sexually abusing five teenage boys.
