Bristol Storm Basketball Club
Bristol Storm are currently a juniors focused British Basketball Club based in the city of Bristol, England. Storm compete in multiple leagues affiliated with Basketball England, including local league West England Basketball Association (WEBBA), Southwest Jr Regional League, and Basketball England Jr National League. As of 2023 the club currently runs a total of nine teams including ages U12s, U14s, U16s, U18s, and a women's team. Storm has also partnered witBristol Met Mambasto provide girls basketball as our sister affiliated program. The team currently play across multiple venues around the city due to the size of the club and lack of facilities in the area, but our home court is currently based out of St Mary Redcliffe and Temple School. Storm's Director and Club Head Coach is currently David Senart who joined the club as the under 18 boys head coach in 2018. National Basketball League (England)
The National Basketball League, or NBL for short, is a league competition representing semi-professional and amateur basketball clubs from England and Wales. It forms levels 2 to 4 on the British basketball pyramid, in line with the Scottish Basketball Championship, sitting directly below the top tier British Basketball League. For the 2021-22 season, the league will have teams split across three levels: :Division 1 (14 teams) :Division 2 (24 teams across 2 regions) :Division 3 (67 teams across 7 regional leagues) The league also runs the English Women's Basketball League, with Division 1 and Division 2 North and South, and a junior structure with over 630 teams competing in Under-18s, Under-16s, Under-14s and Under-12s leagues. Backwell School is a secondary academy school in Backwell, Bristol, Somerset, England. St Mary Redcliffe
St Mary Redcliffe is an Anglican parish church located in the Redcliffe district of Bristol, England. The church is a short walk from Bristol Temple Meads station. The church building was constructed from the 12th to the 15th centuries, and it has been a place of Christian worship for over 900 years. The church is renowned for the beauty of its Gothic architecture and is classed as a Grade I listed building by Historic England. It was famously described by Queen Elizabeth I as "the fairest, goodliest, and most famous parish church in England." Little remains of the earliest churches on the site although a little of the fabric has been dated to the 12th century. Much of the current building dates from the late 13th and 14th centuries when it was built and decorated by wealthy merchants of the city whose tomb and monuments decorate the church.
