Brigitte Bako
Brigitte Bako (born May 15, 1967) is a Canadian actress, producer, and writer. Following her film debut in '' New York Stories'' (1989), Bako had supporting roles in films such as '' One Good Cop'' (1991) and '' Strange Days'' (1995), as well as a lead role in '' I Love a Man in Uniform'' (1993). She is best known for her lead role as Gigi on the Showcase comedy series '' G-Spot'' (2005–09), which she also wrote and produced. Bako is also known for providing the voices of Angela on the Disney animated fantasy series '' Gargoyles'' (1995–97) and Monique Dupre on the Fox Kids animated science fiction series '' Godzilla: The Series'' (1998–00). Early life Bako was born in Montreal, Quebec, to Jewish parents. Her mother is a Holocaust survivor. ''Red Shoe Diaries'' is a 1992 romantic drama television film directed by Zalman King and starring David Duchovny, Brigitte Bako, and Billy Wirth. Genie Award
The Genie Awards were given out annually by the Academy of Canadian Cinema and Television to recognize the best of Canadian cinema from 1980–2012. They succeeded the Canadian Film Awards (1949–1978), known as the "Etrog Awards" for sculptor Sorel Etrog, who designed its statuette. Genie Award candidates were selected from submissions made by the owners of Canadian films or their representatives, based on the criteria laid out in the ''Genie Rules and Regulations'' booklet which were distributed to Academy members and industry members. Peer-group juries, assembled from volunteer members of the Academy, met to watch the submissions and select a group of nominees. Academy members then voted on these nominations. Robert Lantos
Robert Lantos (born 3 April 1949) is a Hungarian-Canadian film producer. Life and career Lantos was born on 3 April 1949 in Budapest, the son of Ágnes (Bodor) and László Lantos, a mechanic and truck company owner. Lantos spent much of his childhood in Montevideo, Uruguay, where his family fled after the Hungarian Revolution of 1956. He immigrated to Canada in 1963. Lantos is Jewish.
