Brigid Emmett Berlin (September 6, 1939 – July 17, 2020), also known as Brigid Polk, was an American artist and Warhol superstar. Life and career Early years Berlin was born on September 6, 1939, in Manhattan in New York City. She was the eldest of three daughters born to socialite parents, Muriel (Johnson) "Honey" Berlin and Richard E. Berlin. Her father was chairman of the Hearst media empire for 32 years. ''Andy Warhol's Pork'' (also known as ''Pork'') is a 1971 play by Andy Warhol. It was directed by Anthony Ingrassia, produced by Ira Gale, and stage-managed by Leee Black Childers. Warhol's private conversations with Brigid Polk served as the basis for the play ''Pork'', which featured exaggerated depictions of Warhol and the Factory crowd. Background ''Pork'' was based on tape-recorded conversations between Andy Warhol and his superstars Brigid Polk and Viva. During his conversations with Polk, she would play her tapes of phone calls between herself and her mother, socialite Honey Berlin. Anthony J. Ingrassia (1944 – December 16, 1995), better known as Tony Ingrassia, was an American director, producer, and playwright whose works were produced on Broadway, off-Broadway, off-off-Broadway, and internationally. Early years Tony Ingrassia was born in Brooklyn, New York City. The family moved to Massapequa Park on Long Island, when he was 10 years old.
