Brigade (comics)
''Brigade'' is an American comic book published by Image Comics and later by Awesome Entertainment, created, plotted, and originally written by Rob Liefeld and first illustrated by Marat Mychaels (creator of ''Demonslayer'' and artist on ''X-Force: Shatterstar'', '' Glory'', ''Calavera'', ''Vampiress Hella'', '' Djustine'', and many other comics) as a spin-off from the then-popular series ''Youngblood''. Series history The original team was led by Battlestone, who had been a former member of Youngblood, as well as a member of Image Comics' "Golden Age" team the Allied Supermen of America. Having been expelled from Youngblood following the deaths of several Youngblood members who at the time were under his command, he later went on to form Brigade alongside Kayo, Boone, and Lethal. But when one of their missions went awry, he disbanded the team, leaving Boone and Lethal out in the cold. Rob Liefeld
Robert Liefeld (; born October 3, 1967) is an American comic book creator. A prominent writer and artist in the 1990s, he is known for co-creating the character Cable with writer Louise Simonson and the character Deadpool with writer Fabian Nicieza. In the early 1990s, Liefeld gained popularity due to his work on Marvel Comics' '' The New Mutants'' and later ''X-Force''. In 1992, he and several other popular Marvel illustrators left the company to found Image Comics, which started a wave of comic books owned by their creators rather than by publishers. The first book published by Image Comics was Liefeld's ''Youngblood'' #1. X-Force
X-Force is a fictional team of superheroes appearing in American comic books published by Marvel Comics, most commonly in association with the X-Men. Conceived by writer/illustrator Rob Liefeld, the team first appeared in ''New Mutants'' #100 (April 1991) and soon afterwards was featured in its own series called '' X-Force''. The group was originally a revamped version of the 1980s team, the New Mutants. X-Force's first leader was the mutant Cable. An offshoot of the X-Men, X-Force takes a more militant and aggressive approach towards its enemies compared to the X-Men. An alternate incarnation of X-Force appears in the 2018 film '' Deadpool 2'' as part of the ''X-Men'' film series. Image Comics Superhero Teams
An image is a visual representation of something. It can be two-dimensional, three-dimensional, or somehow otherwise feed into the visual system to convey information. An image can be an artifact, such as a photograph or other two-dimensional picture, that resembles a subject. In the context of signal processing, an image is a distributed amplitude of color(s). In optics, the term “image” may refer specifically to a 2D image. An image does not have to use the entire visual system to be a visual representation. A popular example of this is of a greyscale image, which uses the visual system's sensitivity to brightness across all wavelengths, without taking into account different colors. A black and white visual representation of something is still an image, even though it does not make full use of the visual system's capabilities. Gary S. Carlson is an American comic book writer, editor and publisher, known for his work on his creator-owned comics, such as the 1980s anthology ''Megaton'' and '' Big Bang Comics''. Erik Larsen
Erik J. Larsen (born December 8, 1962) is an American comic book artist, writer, and publisher. He currently acts as the chief financial officer of Image Comics. He gained attention in the early 1990s with his art on Spider-Man series for Marvel Comics. In 1992 he was one of several artists who stopped working for Marvel to found Image Comics, where he launched his superhero series '' Savage Dragon'' – one of the longest running creator-owned superhero comics series – and served for several years as the company's publisher. Jim Valentino (born October 28, 1952) is an American writer, penciler, editor and publisher of comic books, best known for his 1990–1992 work on '' Guardians of the Galaxy'' for Marvel Comics, and for co-founding Image Comics, a company publishing creator-owned comics. Allied Supermen Of America
The Allied Supermen of America was created as an homage to the Golden Age Justice Society of America and the Silver Age Justice League. Fictional team history Kid Supreme was "dropped off" at World War II by the time travelling League of Infinity (a homage to the Silver Age Legion of Super Heroes). There he met this superhero team and soon joined. The team disbanded in 1949. However, the team later joined again in the 1970s as the "Allies", an homage to the current Justice League. When they reformed as the Allies, Spacehunter (Martian Manhunter) and Fisherman ( Green Arrow) joined. Supreme returned to his normal time . Youngblood is a superhero team that starred in their self-titled comic book, created by writer/artist Rob Liefeld. The team made its debut as a backup feature in the 1987 RAMM #1 before the next month appearing in the one-shot ''Megaton Explosion'' #1 before later appearing in 1992 in its own ongoing series as the flagship publication for Image Comics. The Djustine character was created from a fusion of Sergio Corbucci's film character Django, and the Marquis de Sade's titular " Justine".
