Brian Roche (rugby Union)
Brian Patrick Roche (born 1 July 1974) is an Irish former rugby union player and coach. Career From Togher, Cork, Roche grew up playing hurling for St Finbarr's National Hurling & Football Club, St Finbarr's, before a clubman from Highfield R.F.C., Highfield suggested that he try rugby union. A promising start to his rugby career, combined with his hurling career, in which he had won selection for the Hurling in County Cork, Cork minors panel, meant Roche had to choose between the two sports, and he chose rugby, joining Sundays Well RFC, Sundays Well in his early 20s. Togher, Cork
Togher () is a suburb on the southside of Cork city, Ireland. Togher is within the Dáil constituency of Cork South-Central. Geography Togher is bounded to the north by The Lough, to the south by Ballincrannig and Farmers Cross, to the east by Ballyphehane and to the west by Waterfall and Wilton. Flowing through the parish is the Liberty Stream, from Corcoran's Bridge to Togher Cross where it disappears underground for a short while before re-emerging at Greenwood and joining the larger Tramore River on its way to Douglas. Mike Catt
Michael John Catt OBE (born 17 September 1971) is a South African-born former rugby union player who played for the England national rugby union team. He played professionally for the clubs London Irish and Bath. He earned 75 international caps for England and played in two World Cup Finals, in 2003 (when England won) and 2007. With his appearance in the October 2007 final, at age 36 years 1 month, he became the oldest ever player to play in a Rugby World Cup final. Since 2008, Catt has coached various rugby teams, and has since 2019 been an assistant coach for the Ireland national rugby team. Cork Senior Hurling Team
The Cork county hurling team represents Cork in hurling and is governed by Cork GAA, the county board of the Gaelic Athletic Association. The team competes in the three major annual inter-county competitions; the All-Ireland Senior Hurling Championship, the Munster Senior Hurling Championship and the National Hurling League. The Munster Senior League is an association football league organised by the Munster Football Association. It organises seven divisions as well as various cup competitions. The All-Ireland League (AIL), known for sponsorship reasons as the Energia All-Ireland League, is the national league system for the 50 senior rugby union clubs in Ireland, covering both the Republic of Ireland and Northern Ireland. The league was inaugurated in the 1990–91 season. The league is the second highest level of rugby union in Ireland, as professional teams representing the four provinces of Ireland play in the United Rugby Championship.
