Brian McLaughlin (Gaelic Footballer)
Brian McLaughlin is an Irish former Gaelic footballer who played for St Michael's and the Donegal county team. He won the 1995 All-Ireland Vocational Schools Championship. During the 2004 All-Ireland Senior Football Championship, he and Eamon McGee were suspended from the Donegal panel for a breach of discipline. The BBC reported that the pair had arrived for a "training session in an unfit condition" on two consecutive nights, one month after failing to turn up for one session at all. McLaughlin's club have not had much success at senior level. They reached the final of the 2011 Donegal Senior Football Championship—their first ever senior final—but lost. St Michael's GAA (Donegal)
St Michael's (''CLG Naomh Mícheál'') is a GAA club based in Creeslough/Dunfanaghy in County Donegal. Located in the north of the county, the club is affected by rural issues such as low population and emigration; despite this they play at the top level in the Donegal Senior Football Championship and opened a new clubhouse in 2010. The club colours are red and white. The club plays at the Bridge in Dunfanaghy. The club has rivalries with Cloich Cheann Fhaola, CLG Na nDúnaibh and Glenswilly. The Donegal county football team represents Donegal in men's Gaelic football and is governed by Donegal GAA, the county board of the Gaelic Athletic Association. The team competes in the three major annual inter-county competitions; the All-Ireland Senior Football Championship, the Ulster Senior Football Championship and the National Football League. Gaelic football (; short name '')'', commonly known as simply Gaelic, GAA, or football, is an Irish team sport. A form of football, it is played between two teams of 15 players on a rectangular grass pitch. The objective of the sport is to score by kicking or palming the ball into the other team's Goal (sport), goal (3 points) or between two upright posts above the goal and over a crossbar above the ground (1 point). Players advance the ball up the field with a combination of carrying, bouncing, kicking, hand-passing, and soloing (dropping the ball and then toe-kicking the ball upward into the hands). All-Ireland Vocational Schools Championship
The All-Ireland Vocational Schools Championship was a Gaelic Athletic Association football and hurling competition. There are two levels of competition. Individual schools compete for county, provincial and All-Ireland competitions. County teams selected from schools within each county also competed for provincial and All-Ireland competitions. The final intercounty championships in both codes were played in 2012, while the last schools championships were played in 2013. The ''Donegal News'' (also known as ''Derry People/Donegal News'' and formerly ''Derry People'') is a twice-weekly local newspaper in the northwest of the island of Ireland, first published in 1902. The 2004 All-Ireland Senior Football Championship, known for sponsorship reasons as the 2004 Bank of Ireland All-Ireland Senior Football Championship was the premier Gaelic football competition in 2005. It consisted of 33 teams and began on Sunday 2 May 2004. The championship concluded on Sunday 26 September 2004, when Mayo were defeated by Kerry by 1–20 to 2–9. Eamon McGee
Eamon McGee (born 26 April 1984) is an Irish Gaelic footballer who plays for Gaoth Dobhair and also, formerly, for the Donegal county team (between 2004 and 2016). He is the older brother of Neil McGee. From Gweedore in County Donegal, he won one All-Ireland Senior Football Championship title, three Ulster Senior Football Championship titles and one National Football League title with his county and an Ulster title with his club. The 2011 Donegal Senior Football Championship was the 89th official edition of the Donegal GAA's premier club Gaelic football tournament for senior graded teams in County Donegal. Glenswilly won the final, for the club's first ever title. St Michael's also made a first final appearance. First round The first round draw was made at the RTÉ Raidió na Gaeltachta studios in Derrybeg. A brawl among dozens of people after the game between Naomh Conaill and Glenswilly at Davy Brennan Memorial Park led to Leo McLoone breaking several bones in his face, and the Donegal Competition's Controls Committee (CCC) launching an investigation. All-Ireland Intermediate Club Football Championship
The All-Ireland Intermediate Club Football Championship is an annual Gaelic football competition organised by the Gaelic Athletic Association, GAA. It is played between the Intermediate championship winners from each of the thirty-two counties of Ireland. Each team competes in their own provincial championship, with the four provincial winners competing in the All-Ireland. The competition has a straight knock-out format. It was first held in 2003–04 All-Ireland Intermediate Club Football Championship, 2004 as an unofficial tournament, and has been an official GAA championship since the 2004–05 All-Ireland Intermediate Club Football Championship, 2004–05 edition.
